Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI. Before MS bought Bethesda, did you expect these to be available on PlayStation?

"I did."
Course you did, cause you was about to get Starfield as exclusive

lol as annoying as is he, the dude is a machine :)
Also, Jim is responding with VERY simple Yes/No and sometime elaborates a bit... But he has been trained very well haha
Q Does Nintendo's less sophisticated hardware impact what games can be played on it?
— Derek Strickland (@DeekeTweak) June 27, 2023
Yes.
Q How so?
Many of the games that we make for PlayStation are simply too powerful to be played on a Nintendo Switch. Nintendo hardware does not have the processing power
Talks about how PS collaborated with Activision to develop haptic controls (the vibratey-thing that the latest generation of controllers do).
— Michael Acton (@MActon93) June 27, 2023
Once deal announced, they had to stop collaboration.
Ryan says confidential information about new PS technology "could leak into other parts of Microsoft" and then they could "develop similar features ... that we invented".
— Florian Mueller (@FOSSpatents) June 27, 2023
As if Sony wouldn't patent any innovative features anyway...

Jim Ryan would have been cooked if this was in person/live, Lmao.
FTC asks Ryan whether he negotiated the access agreement at all that Microsoft proposed.
— Florian Mueller (@FOSSpatents) June 27, 2023
Answer: no.
That's not what is called a constructive approach. This is "I just want to block your merger" stuff.

Now looking at an email Phil Spencer sent Ryan with assurances re. Activision.

In your view as CEO of SIE, did this letter agreement address your concerns about availability of Activision content?
No

Hmm, I wonder how this work with cross examination for MS Lawyer. I guess in this particular trial it does not matter but under cross examination pretty much a lot of these statements could be challenged. I am not sure how you can challenge a video deposition at this trial.
MS made assurances about some games.
— Michael Acton (@MActon93) June 27, 2023
"It is our opinion that it was not a meaningful list."
"This list represented a particular selection of older titles." So Overwatch 1 was on the list but not Overwatch 2.
It's literally the same fucking client isn't it? Overwatch 2 replaced Overwatch 1?
And also...It's already fucking on PlayStation.
Lmfao.
Sony being the main proponent to the deal and Jim cryin ryan doing a deposition instead of having the balls to do it in court should tell the judge everything she needs to know.

Yes, I do not know if Microsoft lawyers listened (or attended) the FTC part and then simply asked questions to cross-examine him when it was their turn.
That's a good point, very interested to see how this will play :) Will know in few minutes haha
Jim Ryan is really struggling to explain how this hurts PS gamers and FTC's whole case is focused on how Xbox will do exactly what PlayStation does...
If FTC continues to focus on the awful console market and doesn't angle towards the cloud market then I don't see how their case has a chance at all.
