Stadia's dude just said Stadia competed with consoles. 💀

So not different markets then? Lol.

GeForce is still alive too

Careful, he actually also included "PC" :)

I think you can make the argument for the opposite, by including the PC in the list; it is kinda proving that the cloud is competing as a 'stand-alone' market against PC and consoles. I know it is very weak (and not true...) but the case can be made with his answer.

Fucking Christ...

FTC ending the day by setting up Stadia's employee to confirm that Stadia competed with Xbox/PlayStation.

Then when FTC returned they only had a single question.

"Were any of those other cloud gaming services operating when Stadia launched?"

The Judge was so over that shit. "Better be a good one" Lmao. She knows FTC is losing.

What an awful day for FTC, Lol.

Microsoft lawyer dismantling the console theory of concern, the judge making Phil make a oath under testimony to further destroy the console theory of concern, FTC got absolutely nowhere with Phil and their lawyer even seemed to annoy the Judge (twice) and then they bring in Stadia exec only for him to basically say that Cloud Gaming isn't a separate market.

Way worse than day one which was already bad, FTC is embarrassing themselves, they don't even know basic economics which Phil has to sit there and explain them to them. And Microsoft isn't even on the attack yet, this was meant to be FTC's time to prove their case, Lol.

Phil just clarified AGAIN under oath that when he says they'll support CoD on PlayStation, they mean ALL future PlayStation futures, not just the PS5. He wanted that clarification under oath to make sure people don't think he's trying to be sneaky and only mean PS5.

Good shit Phil. That was very smart to re-clarify!

i'm confused why buy Activision  if COD is not gonna be exclusive ever.

So nothing until next Thursday... booo. So that's the 4 days. yesterday, today, next thursday and then friday.

Candy Crush makes more money than COD.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Business first and foremost and keeping CoD multiplatform is financially by far the most sensible option, CoD is created by thousands of employees, costing hundreds of millions per entry, by about a dozen studios at a time and its largest playerbase is PlayStation consoles, it's also a multiplayer title which needs all those people still playing it, Microsoft has conducted multiple surveys as well which state that the amount of people who would switch to Xbox for CoD would be a small amount.

Simply put if Microsoft made CoD exclusive, they'd lose hundreds of millions in revenue from Call of Duty.

Basically think of it this way "Why buy Mojang if Minecraft is not going to be exclusive" Cause it is simply, far too big, CoD like Minecraft, is simply much too large to justify it going exclusive, Microsoft made a commitment to shareholders that this $69bn would be to grow the Gaming business and making CoD exclusive would have the opposite effect of that.

In addition, a large part of the reason why Microsoft acquired ABK was their mobile potential, King actually makes more money than Blizzard and isn't that far behind Activision but what isn't included in King is Diablo Mobile and CoD Mobile, both of which are massive Mobile titles.
