Recently I responded to someone saying Game Pass caused an issue of Japanese developers skipping the platform unless they get a Game Pass cheque. Even Atlus is releasing titles on Xbox now, day one, without a Game Pass cheque, fucking Atlus!

I understand Phil's frustration with Square Enix, cause c'mon man, Lmao. Clearly it's mostly Square who is the one waiting for a Game Pass cheque whilst many other Japanese developers are actually trying.

SMT will be next I think and I'd be surprised if Persona 6 was exclusive now.

Disappointed in no Jet Set Radio reveal but I'm sure it's coming in time, probably just needs a little longer to cook.

Waiting for a game pass check doesn't really make sense anyway. Like, put your damn games on Xbox and if MS wants to make a deal for their games later on, they will. Square is just like give me a game pass check first.

Square is pretty much the only Japanese dev/pub that's behaving like this anyway. Sega, Capcom, Namco, etc... are all still releasing their games normally on Xbox. Not waiting for MS to drop a bag into their lap before putting them on Xbox.

Ikr.. it's literally only SE that pulls this shit. But... but... I was told that Japanese devs need a gamepass cheque first.

Also F SE, but coppin that FF 16 day one, demo was fire. Easy 60 from Fizzie.

“The FTC plans to seek a court order blocking the transaction until the agency's in-house court has a chance to rule on the deal, according to the person, who asked not to be named“

Lol...FTC.

So if I've got this right, they are STILL trying to avoid going to federal court to actually block the deal, instead they are filing a temporary block until their in-house court rules on the deal in August, which FYI, their in-house court has absolutely zero power and only makes suggestions, so they say it should be blocked or shouldn't be blocked but they have no power to block the deal, it STILL has to be taken to a federal court to block the deal.

And even IF FTC's in-house court says the deal should be approved, FTC is free to ignore their decision and take Microsoft to federal court still which they have done multiple times in the past.

Nah, they're taking the piss, I hope a judge tells them to stop fucking around, if they want to block the deal then block the deal, stop this delay tactics nonsense, there is no reason to grant a temporary block until their internal court decision which has no power, if you want to block the deal then take Microsoft to federal court, now.

If you're scared Microsoft is going to close the deal then take them to federal court, now.

Would Activision really not extend the deal? Seems kind of stupid if they don't. Would only benefit them tbh money wise, unless what? they need a short term cash infusion with the penalty?

Activision stock is way better now than it was when Microsoft acquired them.

I think people overestimate how much ABK will be hurt, when the CMA blocked the deal and everyone thought it was dead, their stock did fall but ultimately held steady and nowhere near the lows of when Xbox acquired them.

With Diablo having just released and $12bn cash in the bank, Activision can do stock buyback to please their investors and increase the value of their remaining shares to mitigate any loss from the deal dying.

Simply put Activision is in a far far better position now than they were last year, most of the lawsuits are settled, everyone has mostly moved on, their games are selling ridiculously amazing and they have $12bn cash to play with to please investors.

Thus Microsoft will likely have to exceed their offer by quite a bit, on top of a higher breakup fee, I'd be absolutely shocked if the extension is still $69bn. Now we're back to negotiations, how far is Microsoft willing to go and how greedy with Activision get.

$12bn cash in the bank + $3bn from Microsoft for the breakup.

Microsoft is in a weaker negotiation position now than in 2021.

I wish MS would just close the deal now. And then let the ones who are serious about blocking do something then. This political theatre is getting so damn old.

I honestly think they're hoping ABK walks away from the deal with these delay tactics. Since the July deadline is rapidly approaching, in their eyes they probably know the CMA is either going to settle with MS or the CMA informed the FTC that MS is planning on closing despite the CMA blocking.

Probably hope ABK won't renegotiate and they'll kill the deal that way.

So instead of having traditional choice and consequences, you're able to go back in time, make your choices, then travel back to the present and see just how differently everything played out depending on the choices you've made.

Bruh......I'm changing my top 5 games lol

Okay I'm resuming my Giantbomb interview.

When Lucy asks Phil/Matt about planning their future line-up, Matt mentions the future of certain studios and Phil whispers to Jeff/Tamoor "ID" with a little smirk, Lol.

Then they all mention MachineGames and ask where Wolfenstein is but it just gets a laugh.

Chornobylite did something like this and it's very cool! I love time-travel stuff. Clockwork Revolution was already on my top 5 games and climbing up now.
