“The FTC plans to seek a court order blocking the transaction until the agency's in-house court has a chance to rule on the deal, according to the person, who asked not to be named“

Lol...FTC.

So if I've got this right, they are STILL trying to avoid going to federal court to actually block the deal, instead they are filing a temporary block until their in-house court rules on the deal in August, which FYI, their in-house court has absolutely zero power and only makes suggestions, so they say it should be blocked or shouldn't be blocked but they have no power to block the deal, it STILL has to be taken to a federal court to block the deal.

And even IF FTC's in-house court says the deal should be approved, FTC is free to ignore their decision and take Microsoft to federal court still which they have done multiple times in the past.

Nah, they're taking the piss, I hope a judge tells them to stop fucking around, if they want to block the deal then block the deal, stop this delay tactics nonsense, there is no reason to grant a temporary block until their internal court decision which has no power, if you want to block the deal then take Microsoft to federal court, now.

If you're scared Microsoft is going to close the deal then take them to federal court, now.

I honestly think they're hoping ABK walks away from the deal with these delay tactics. Since the July deadline is rapidly approaching, in their eyes they probably know the CMA is either going to settle with MS or the CMA informed the FTC that MS is planning on closing despite the CMA blocking.

Probably hope ABK won't renegotiate and they'll kill the deal that way.
