A kotaku writer complaining about toxicity is a staggering degree of lack of self awareness

Went with an 8 on the hype poll, don't want to go in with too high of expectations, but Xbox really does need to knock it out of the park this year, they are at huge risk of losing this generation even worse than last gen if they don't turn things around soon.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Everyone will be starting on level 1 at launch. Progression system will not be retroactive.

Question for the Xbots...
We got a few 10s here in the poll. What would make the conference a 10? Might have asked this already, but idc.

For me:

  • Start off STRONG, I need a statement game: Avowed, Hellblade, or Fable. Release windows for Avowed or Hellblade.
  • Not much talking, keep the games flowing.
  • Show off some world premiere multiplats, possibly from EA with Dragon Age, or even a new IP.
  • First party needs to show up --> Games that were shown back in 2019-2021 need to show up; Everwild, State of Decay 3.
  • 3rd party deals like Contraband, gameplay trailer.
  • Release date and gameplay for Forza Motorsport (not too much time on this).
  • More Japanese support -> Possibly P3 remake, and more JRPG ports from Ys, Trails, etc. Atlus and or RGG (despite their own conference, show off Yakuza 8)
  • Good amount of indies and missing games like Kena, and Stray to game pass.
  • Big AA Fall/Winter 2024 Gamepass release day one.
  • Studio Buyouts --> Smaller in size like --> Asobo etc.
  • Remakes/Remaster collections of Gears of War, Fable, and or Fallout.
  • Close with a statement --> Avowed or Fable
  • Wild card: Fallout New Vegas 2 (collab with Obsidian and Bethesda).

Glad there will be a way to show off your career rank!

"Once you start working your way up the ranks, you’ll also likely want to start showing off your level. Fortunately, there will be plenty of ways to see your rank (and those of other players).

A few of the notable places where you can see your accomplishments:

During the match intro. When the camera pans to a Spartan, you will now see a banner that displays their Career Rank.
Every individual player’s Profile will include their Career Rank.
Inspecting a player in the Post-Game Carnage Report (PGCR).
In general, in most places where you see a player’s full nameplate, a banner with their Career Rank will also be displayed."

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Went with a 5 on the hype poll. Trying to keep my expectations as low as reasonably possible to avoid any remote possibility of disappointments. And if they exceed my low expectations then I’ll just be happy as a bonus.

Starfield and Forza are the confirmed locks. Have said everything I said above, I will consider this showcase a disappointment if we do not see at least one of the following:

Hellblade 2
Avowed or Outer Worlds 2
Compulsion’s project
Inexile’s project

  • Perfect Dark
  • Persona 3 Remake
  • Some big day-one gamepass releases that aren't 1st party

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Just those games and a banging gamepass reel of some big titles are enough for it to be a 10/10 for me. Of course, some can be substituted, like if Perfect Dark isn't there but they show Hellblade 2 instead it'd still be a 10/10. In terms of 3rd parties, not much outside of Persona would hype me up. Ports of the older mainline SMT games would be dope but not really a big crazy announcement or anything like a P3Remake or new Persona 5 game would be.

  • snip-

The ass-shitting would be the coup de grace for 10/10.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Banjo would instantly make it a 10 for me.  If Persona 3 remake looks at least as good as Persona 5R that will put it near 10 territory. I'm expecting an 7.5-8 showcase with what I'm expecting there, so any new big announcements can get it higher.
