Forums - Gaming - Cheap games for consoles.

Hey people just want to know do you buy all your games at top dollar that is $60 US when its launched? Or do you wait for the game to be available second hand or pick it up 6 months later for $30 on special?

I actually admit to being a cheapskate and tend to wait for either a game to be available second hand or pick it up on special for half the price of the game when it launched 6 months ago. I live in Australia and the games are over priced due to the game industry being small in this small country of only 20 million total population. We pay between $90US to $110US for games.

GTA 4 I guess I will wait and get it around November at the earliest. 2 or 3 games for $60 sounds good to me

I buy games from companies I want to support, immediately. I buy games from companies I hate off ebay.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I live in Australia and people in Europe and other regions outside of USA, have to pay up to $100 US for a brand new game for PS3/360. Its the way it is because these places have smaller video game markets. Consoles sold in countries outside of the USA can be sold at retail as high as $1000 US for a brand new PS3, I heard in Argentina.

Cheap games is good for everyone it means more people can afford to buy them.

For PS2, I bought over 80% used or waited until they went to $20 new. Did not as much disposable income when first had the PS2, and it's has such a huge library there are always good used games available for it lately.

For wii, most of the games I have are new. They never have the ones I want used, or they are only 5% off list, and I haven't felt like waiting. Now that my wii collection is approaching the size of my PS2 collection that will probably be changing sometime, maybe next year...

If I really want the game I will buy it new at retail. Games like GTA, Metal Gear Solid, and Haze I have already paid for. Games that I am uncertain about if I will like or not I will rent from Gamefly and if I like it I will either buy from them or buy from ebay.

You can trade two or three old Wii games for a brand new Wii game. That is an offer at some retail stores.

i buy it right away if its a game series i like, like Gran Turismo

or if its a new game (at least to me) i rent it, then decide to buy it or not.

but I never wait 6 months or whatevre.
