Forums - Gaming - What is your buying habit?

For me, I've taken advantage of the gaming surge where I am having trouble keeping up with huge backlog of games. (Mainly, due to lack of free time nowadays)

I don't buy newly released games as I would have been and instead wait for a price drop while catching up on past titles.

There are exceptions here and there occassionally on must-play-now titles.

I generally buy about one game a month, and I'm currently struggling to pick up new releases and older games I've missed (mainly ps2 games).

Since I barely have time to finish the games I already own, this leads to quite a backlog. =|

Between 4 to 8 games every year. All depends on quality AAA games that I like the look of I will buy when they are half price. That is 6 months after they have been launched.

I dont have a set amount of games I buy a year. It really depends on what kind of games are released. Im confident that if 25 amazing games came out, I would buy them all. If only 2, then just 2. In the past year and a half (counting consoles and handhelds), Ive invested in 25-28 games. Which is roughly 1 game every 3 weeks.

i buy what i want when i want it. usually a game is just an impulse buy in any case cause of the low price.

One game per month is the rule. I might make exceptions for special deals, rare finds, too many good titles to resist special occaisions...

It's more what you'd call a guideline, than an actual rule.

mostly same as yours. but i also buy used.

When I want a game Il buy it as soon as I can get it .. if not I might loose it forever :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I check what new games are being developed and by the time they are released I know for sure whether I want them or not.

If I want a game I buy it as soon as I can because I have missed out on a great game for the PS2 to this day and I am never going to let that happen again.

I struggle between being an impulse buyer and a cautious buyer, depending on what my cashflow intake is. Since I'm broke, I get the biggest must-haves when I can afford it and I wait for price drops to pick up the older games I want, like Resistance. If I get a decent paying job, there shall be a buying storm (at least 6 games this summer-fall).
