Forums - Music Discussion - Can you guys show me a website that I can make my own music(PC software) free without paying?

I have like 1 or 2 amazing songs pop in my head like every week, alot of them I forget alot of unique style it probably fit in it's own genre (mech feel to them, few others Metal, several Japanese singers I need to hire a Japanese singer with fine tone on high note on some of the songs that pop in my headthat get lost in time think of it like what if Sonic 2 chemical Plant ost never existed or Mario 64 dire dire docks never existed Something is really making me dream amazing songs and they sadly fade away because I never recorded songs on PC?) So help me I want several of these songs to be made into reality.

Heres a list of some free DAWs.

I use Logic, Cubase and Studio One, but those aren't free and doesn't matter. Any of them are good to jump in and start getting your feet wet. The ones you pay for just have more features.

You can get by with just a mouse and keyboard but it can get tedious.  I would recommend getting something small like this at first to see if it's something you are really interested in or if its just a passing phase.  This is a MIDI controller, it is basically a mouse and keyboard that looks like a musical instrument.  It makes no sounds, has no speakers, it just allows you to interact with the sound libraries that are included with most DAWs.  Don't let its size fool you either, it is not a toy.  It is professional grade.  You can probably find one of these used at a Pawn shop or garage sale for a lot less money.  A good set of headphones or monitors I would also recommend.

Ah new name and costs money.

Hmm I can't remember if it cost money back then either tbh, or whether someone game me a hacked version.

This look about 100x more advanced then what I used lol.

Pro Tools, Logic and Cubase are the industry standard. I work with Cubase for 20 years now and I'm very happy. The user interface of Logic isn't very intuitive for many people and Pro Tools doesn't offer this many different kind of tracks and tools like Cubase.

Keep in mind that those 3 DAWs are very mighty. You maybe need some time to figure out the workflow which fits to your style.

You could try music-specialised Linux distros:
