Key takeaways:
The number of planes and helicopters losses by Russia is significantly down but, given the information we have, it is only for the fact Ukrainian are so good at shooting them down that Russia aren't using them anymore.
The number of Tanks and personnel carriers are also down but mitigated by an increase in vehicles and, more importantly, MLRS.
All in all the Ukrainian defense continue to be strong and inflict significant losses to Russia who have very little to show for more than 2 months in.

Gosar’s family paid for billboards here in a Arizona urging people not to vote for him. Unfortunately, he’s in the safest red congressional district in the state.

So the Georgia separatist region of South Ossetia, recognised by most Western countries as Russian-occupied is planning to hold a referendum on joining Russia.

Seems odd to me for them to do that, geopolitics aside having broken from one state that they see as an oppressive ruler they seek to join another one. Ossetians aren’t ethically connected to Russians any more than they are to Georgians. In 2008 I remember them saying that they didn’t just want to give up their independence but I guess eventually geopolitics took over.

On topic, this is one of the plausible scenarios I could see that could lead to the conflict spreading beyond Ukraine, as Georgia is not likely to take the proposed annexation of what it sees as its territory lightly. In the 2008 war, Georgia was beaten by Russia in a matter of days and I doubt is much stronger militarily now than it was then. But with much of Russia’s forces bogged down in a gruelling war in Ukraine Georgia may feel it has as good a chance as it ever will to retake the territory. However I had read somewhere that Georgia currently has a pro-Russia administration which might not want to make such a move, although it might also decide this is where it draws the line.

That report is gaining traction on several news sites that I visit. Would be a significant victory for Ukraine. Kharkiv is the second largest city of the country and one of the main fronts away from Donbas that Russia didn’t withdraw from when it withdrew from northern Ukraine.

If true, hopefully Ukraine can use the momentum to push Russia back in the south and east.

Kherson is of great concern due to the upcoming referendum, it would be a huge blow to Russia's plan/ integrity if the Ukrainians took back Kherson.

From what I’ve read, the referendum plan and been ditched and the occupation forces plan to just outright announced annexation. Not that a referendum would have had a shred of credibility anyway with an ongoing war and reportedly 40% of residents having fled the city. And then there’s the obviously bias of the Russian occupation forces.
