a private plane left Damascus like an hour ago. Maybe Assad already left the country. I'm not even sure if there will be a big fight now. Everyone advances so fast to Damascus it just doesn't look like Syrian army even tries to do much. Many probably gave up already or will as soon as they see a rebel in front of them.

And we could see that with pretty much every village the rebels took the last days. It was always something like an "agreement" between rebel forces and the leaders in those villages. That's why it all happened so fast. There was almost no fighting to take any village. And I doubt Assad just told his soldiers to leave everything. He just couldn't convince them to fight.

Everyone fucking hates him because he terrorised everyone, no group was safe from this mad bastard.

Yeah I doubt he would get any help from Hezbollah either. Their base wasn't happy the last time they played lap dog for Iran to help Assad. And now they are licking their wounds they'll be even more reluctant to 'lend a hand'.

Assad's rule is coming to an end, and nobody will shed any tears.

I hope all these factions can rally long enough behind a common enemy to work together to create a better country with freedom for all. But it could also split up or remain divided. After all Syria is just a French creation, arbitrary borders on a map. (Sykes-Picot Agreement)

Of course, there's a lot of factions, I really hope HTS aren't just talking shit and make a genuine attempt at unity but I remain doubtful even with all their recent displays because the true test will be when they actually have power, plus there's multiple other factions that have to accept unity and then there's ISIS that needs dealing with. Annoyingly, Türkiye will continue to be a primary contributor to destabilising Syria, as they will continue to bomb the Kurds directly and indirectly through the SNA.

Boo, I hope he isn't on it, Syrians need justice but yeah he likely fled like the coward he is, facing a true military opponent is a lot harder than bombing children and gassing civilians.

HTS is saying and doing all the right things but like I said, true test will be after they remove the common enemy, it'll be difficult to unite the factions and it'll be a truer case of even when they do unite the factions, if they stick to their word. Ideally they stick to their word, unite with Syrian Free Army and leave SDF alone but I have strong doubts.

If Saydnaya is indeed taken by rebel forces, please make sure those people inside get the right treatment and are taken care of. They've witnessed the worst of the worst. Also, those stories of what happened inside should be documented immediately in order to start criminal case against Assad.

Sednaya Prison, nicknamed the "Human Slaughterhouse" is a military prison near Damascus in Syria operated by the Syrian government.

That nickname...Can't imagine the horrors that are about to be found when it's liberated.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) estimated in January 2021 that 30,000 detainees have perished in Sednaya from torture, ill-treatment and mass executions since the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, while Amnesty International estimated in February 2017 "that between 5,000 and 13,000 people were extrajudicially executed at Saydnaya between September 2011 and December 2015."

Elsewhere some prisoners detained for so long under such isolated conditions that they think Saddam is still alive...
