I'm pretty sure, like a month ago, some other western outlet reported "sources in Russia" saying Putin is ready to negotiate a ceasefire only for Peskov to immediately and publicly come out to say that Russia's goals have not changed. Point is, I wish western outlets would stop reporting on "Russian sources" as if they're done in good faith.

Not only would it be bullshit to concede current battlefield lines, what they also don't tell you is that those negotiations would also demand Ukraine can't join NATO, demilitarisation and removal of Zelenskyy as President but these "Russian sources" put shit like this out, half truths, to try to make Russia seem like they're open to genuine negotiations and there's plenty of western idiots who think Ukraine should give up current frontlines who will say "well, Ukraine should give up current frontlines for peace! Russia won't attack them again in the future!"

Reuters are being used like an idiot.

And if Putin does actually show he wants to end the war, that will tell us one thing, he's scared and now is the time to double-down. The only negotiation should be Russian forces leaving every inch of Ukraine because a pause wouldn't stop the war, it would simply delay it for Russia to attack again in the future, how coincidental these "sources" come out near the European elections too.

Scholz:

Fecking Warmongers!

Seriously though...Lithuania...They have like 23,000 active military personnel, the West is taking the piss if they let them do this alone.

Those Baltic countries are truly awesome talking about this war. If all would be like them, the war would have ended already with Russia kicked out of Ukraine.

If they wouldn't be direct neighbors to Russia I wouldn't be surprised if they would even talk about sending troops to directly fight against Russians in Ukraine.

Putin wants to negotiate now because he knows that Russian stregnth is at its peak right now.  The pendulum should start swinging back towards Ukraine next year if not this year. But zelensky isn't stupid and he won't throw away territory so it would seem that putin will look even worse when the war turns bad for him.
