I hoe that ukraine can acquire these Patriot systems that Israel is retiring https://breakingdefense.com/2024/05/israel-retires-patriot-air-defenses-as-native-air-defense-systems-step-up/

Israel won't send shit to Ukraine because Israel doesn't give a damn about Ukraine and they're afraid of upsetting Russia, the same Russia which is already supplying and helping Israel's enemies grow stronger, absolute cowardice behaviour by a country that when attacked has the fucking air force of UK, America and France protecting it.

A British man has been charged over an arson plot targeting a Ukrainian business after allegedly being recruited to act for the mercenary Wagner Group.

The suspect will face trial under the UK’s new National Security Act, in the first case brought under new legislation to crack down on foreign agents. Four other men have also been charged in connection with the arson plot.

it seems there are few parts of Europe that are not targets. Earlier in April, Germany arrested two individuals on suspicion of planning attacks on behalf of Russia, with a range of targets including US military bases. In Lithuania, Moscow has used organized criminal networks to arrange physical attacks on Russian opposition figures.

Swedish security police are investigating possible sabotage behind repeated railway derailments in the far north of the country, and the Estonian security services have logged intensified Russian efforts to recruit local citizens to attack their own government.

Arrests by the Polish authorities include a man who was reconnoitring security arrangements at the important Rzeszow airport, apparently with the intent to aid an attempt at assassinating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was due to transit through there.

Poland has also disrupted at least one network of agents set up for reconnaissance and sabotage of the country’s rail network.

Similar patterns are apparent in Russian electronic warfare disrupting flights around the Baltic Sea region. It is a problem that dates back years, covers an expanding area of Europe and is becoming increasingly serious.

In March Russia was reported to have jammed satellite signals affecting an aircraft carrying the UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps back from Poland, while similar signal interference was widely reported to be a problem for several British holiday flights in April.

In northern Norway too, Russian jamming of GPS is not only disrupting air traffic on a daily basis, but is hampering the work of police and emergency services.

Flights between Finland and Estonia have been repeatedly abandoned and are now suspended, as of late April. The growing impact of flight cancellations and aborted landings is a cost directly attributable to Russian action. But Western inaction means there are no consequences for Moscow.

State department officials said Russia used the choking agent chloropicrin to win "battlefield gains" over Ukraine.

The allegations, which US officials said were not an "isolated" incident, would contravene the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), which Russia signed.

The United States, Britain and the European Union are pressing the United Arab Emirates to show it is cracking down on firms evading sanctions imposed on Russia over the war in Ukraine, according to three sources aware of the diplomatic outreach.

Now that we have confirmation of Russia using chemical weapons in Ukraine from America we should be lifting the stupid restriction that Ukraine can't use American weapons on Russian soil, likewise with the UK and France but we won't, Kyiv would probably have to be nuked for that restriction to be lifted.

Breakthrough would be too late, especially to "ask the question" so it's not a question being asked now, it's a question which would be asked only if the lines were broken through, in which case, we'd spend months of debate after those lines are broken though in typical western fashion and before we make a decision the situation will be dire, if such an event were to happen.

You can start by lifting the stupid weapon restrictions on Ukraine before even the troop idea though.

Weakness only encourages Putin.

He and other servicemen predict Chasiv Yar will fall eventually.

Sadly, I can't see them turning this around, I think Chasiv Yar will fall, it has been too little too late (a common occurrence from the West) and they still haven't received the promised ammunition. Western Europe not pulling their finger out and Mike Johnson delaying aid are to blame for if Chasiv Yar falls which will open up multiple new abilities to take more of Donetsk. It's not a Pyrrhic victory like Bakhmut.

I'm sorry but...

This is fucking hilarious (in a bad way).

NATO Allies are deeply concerned about recent malign activities on Allied territory, including those resulting in the investigation and charging of multiple individuals in connection with hostile state activity affecting Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

Lets say that again.

  1. Czech Republic
  2. Estonia
  3. Germany
  4. Latvia
  5. Lithuania
  6. Poland
  7. The UK

And all they can muster up is a "bad Russia"

Seven. Countries.

Seven NATO countries, all "part of an intensifying campaign of activities which Russia continues to carry out.....This includes sabotage, acts of violence, cyber and electronic interference, disinformation campaigns, and other hybrid operations."

What do we do? We say "Naughty Russia"

You know what Russia will do in response? Intensify those attacks because once again we're showing weakness.

At this point it seems very likely that nothing short of a Russian military operation in a NATO country will make NATO countries take this as seriously as they should. Escalation management has already proven to be ill-advised for two years running, but there's still too many who believe that it will work eventually.
