“Because of unclear signaling by the West we may mislead Putin into thinking he can attack without too harsh a consequence. Say he’d attack Narva and say the next day it’s under Russian nuclear umbrella, and what’ll you do now?” @ToniHofreiter https://t.co/5wUfad3nmb

Now that we have confirmation of Russia using chemical weapons in Ukraine from America we should be lifting the stupid restriction that Ukraine can't use American weapons on Russian soil, likewise with the UK and France but we won't, Kyiv would probably have to be nuked for that restriction to be lifted.
"If the Russians were to break through the front lines and if there were a Ukrainian request—which is not the case today—we would legitimately have to ask ourselves the question if we should deploy troops in Ukraine," French President Macron said. https://t.co/i0EAexeGSJ

Breakthrough would be too late, especially to "ask the question" so it's not a question being asked now, it's a question which would be asked only if the lines were broken through, in which case, we'd spend months of debate after those lines are broken though in typical western fashion and before we make a decision the situation will be dire, if such an event were to happen.
You can start by lifting the stupid weapon restrictions on Ukraine before even the troop idea though.
Weakness only encourages Putin.
