GOP lawmaker threatens to go nuclear if 'anarchist' MTG's bid to oust Johnson succeeds

Republicans in the House of Representatives have long expressed frustration with the antics of lawmakers such as Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), but have rarely done something concrete to stop them.

However, an anonymous House Republican tells Axios' Juliegrace Brufke that they may at last reach their breaking point should Greene's bid to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) succeed.

"Some of us are saying if the Speaker is vacated, which would be a travesty... that we’ll nominate Steve Womack and cut the anarchists out all together," the GOP lawmaker said.

Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR) is a House Republican who has been one of the staunchest supporters of Ukraine in its attempts to repel Russia's two-year-old invasion, and electing him as speaker would certainly isolate critics of aid to the war-torn nation such as Greene, who has falsely claimed that the country is waging a war against Christianity itself.

So far, just Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) have said they will vote to vacate Johnson as speaker. However, given the razor-thin majority Republicans now have in the House, Johnson will need at least some Democratic votes presuming no other Republicans join in the push to remove him.

Germany has supplied their IRIS-T system to Ukraine, and just a couple days ago announced sending another battery. in All, Germany pledged 12 Medium range IRIS-T SLM and 24 short-range SLS systems, out of which only 4 (3 SLM and 1 SLS, or 3+2 with the new one, which doesn't seem to be on the list yet) have have arrived so far. If Germany ramps up the deliveries of IRIS-T and their corresponding rockets, then Ukraine should have a much more adequate air defense than it has now.

France doesn't have or use any air defense systems to speak of apart from some MANPADS and naval air defense systems, so there ain't much that they could send to Ukraine from their own stocks anymore that they didn't send yet. France's doctrine is based on high mobility and is mostly focused on counter-insurgency, which tend to not have any Air Force and thus didn't need much in terms or air defense, though considering how drones are employed in Ukraine, this could change in the future.

As for the UK, they have 2 indigenous designs: A new CAMM design system called Sky Sabre (first units came online in 2022), and the smaller Starstreak, that can be both mounted on  a vehicle or used as MANPADS, the latter of which have been send in some quantities to Ukraine. The UK will probably get their units of Sky Sabre first delivered before they will send any to Ukraine, so that may take a while.

I think the Democrats will save Mike Johnson but Republicans should go nuclear on these people regardless, there are straight up traitors to America and its allies in the GOP, Russian propagandists and a paedophile. Cut the disgusting anarchists out now, how many chances do they get? How much longer are moderate Republicans going to let the far right plague their party?

Snyder refuted the suggestion that Nazis were pervasive in Ukrainian government, and he urged lawmakers to redirect their concerns about fascism to focus on Russia.

"If the chamber is interested in the degree of far-right participation in Ukrainian politics, you can be assured that no far-right party has ever crossed 3 percent … in a Ukrainian election," he said. There's no Republican running against her, so I fear she will get re-elected again. But even then, her antics already damaged her, having dropped sharply in the amount of voters she got between 2020 and 2022, dropping from 75% to 66% of the votes.

I always wonder how people like her manage to even get into such a position, how they have a list of 100 notable accomplishments in education, from different high valued jobs and so on. Some like her don't even reach the intellect of a 10 years old.
