Forums - Politics Discussion - Russia and Ukraine flashpoint

I hope more than just younger, non-brainwashed/less brainwashed, Russians come to know that Russism has been a pathetic disaster of a culture, and Putin is a pathetic disaster of a leader. Nothing good has come of this—only poverty, death, and destruction to Russians, their neighbours, and the other peoples of the regions. And hopefully that support is strong enough to open the gates to allow investigation and prosecution of war criminals, and the bitter end to the Russist factions. Hopefully a new more modernized, democratic, and ethical Russia comes out of this.

Ukrainians have been abused and murdered but, if these posts are showing anything, there is optimism emerging out of the suffering. A free and powerful, and legends that will ring down through the generations.

Putin is not Julius Caesar the conqueror and icon of Empires. He’s the cowardly murderer Honorius, who was too self centred to care that the Empire crumbled, and Rome burned. Instead, blaming scapegoats for the lack of success of his betrayals and tyranny. Putin has no valour, he’s a coward who would rather kill than do what needs to be done for the greater good of both Russia and Ukraine. Hopefully, the rest of the Russian people come to see that.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Unconfirmed reports from Russian war reporters say that Stremousov has just been killed in a road traffic accident

Now officially confirmed by the Russian-installed administration in Kherson

So did he fly through the windshield? I guess a window is a window, TerroRusstians can't be picky.?

Ukraine taking back Kherson, America avoiding a worst case scenario in their midterms, and I just got a new job with a hefty pay bump.

Grats on the new job.

Yeah, Russia expected a big Republican win, doesn't seem to have happened, Dems are performing better than expected?

Bad day for Russia in both America and Ukraine.

Wins like this are important for Ukraine's western support too, as we head into Winter, Kharkhiv and Kherson are both huge wins that show to the more cynical group that Ukraine can win and it's not futile to support them, if they went into Winter without major gains like this, I would have worried what public support would have looked like.

Thanks. I'm waiting until more votes are settled to start celebrating, but so far it seems like more swing votes are ending up blue than red. Still a disturbing number of fascists getting elected in red regions of the country, but final polls before the midterms made things appear way worse than they're currently turning out. Historically, Republicans should be performing way better than they are and Democrats may actually gain ground in the Senate and governorships even if they lose the House.

I think it is inevitable that Republicans take more losses as long as a loser is head of the Republican party.
