Strelkov, WarGonzo, Rybar and others are being cracked down on in Russia, apparently being investigated for "discrediting the RF Armed Forces" by order of Gerasimov.

How long will Russians continue to tolerate this level of dysfunction and chaos?

Younger Russians, so those who mostly disagree with Putin and the war, are leaving the country in droves since the war began or sent to prisons for protesting. The older generation is getting almost all their news through state media, which is glorifying the war special military operation and Putin while demonizing both Ukraine and the west in general, and due to getting bombarded with the latter news for about 20 years now, many of them actually believe that propaganda to high degrees, too.

In other words, the Russian state needs to implode from within to have a real prospect of change. And even then right now it looks like the change could very well be for the worse, as the hardliners seem to get increasingly powerful in Moscow.

Kadyrov and Prigozhin are definitely worse than Putin, arguably even more psychotic than him. Though in the case of Kadyrov, I really doubt there is much appetite in Russia's elite for the petulant boy from Chechnya to take over, there doesn't seem to be any love between Kadyrov and Gerasimov or Kadyrov and Shoigu or Kadyrov and Peskov, Lol.

Prigozhin is a worry though, a psycho that is close to Putin and not as abrasive as Kadyrov, whilst being very friendly with the psycho Kadyrov too and backing his insane opinions and Wagner (which he founded) is the only unit having success in Ukraine right now (around Bakhmut), so it makes him look actually competent.
