Russia is 100% not attacking Finland any time soon. We've been preparing for a Russian attack since Russia last attacked us, and we could make it very costly even alone, let alone with NATO support. We're prepared, we're building up our defences even more, and much of our population has military training, so occupation would also be costly. I also fail to see what Russia could achieve here that it couldn't more easily elsewhere. It's not like we have a huge population or great natural riches for Russia to abuse, so it would most likely be just undermining the West even more than the war in Ukraine is doing. But for that, the Baltics seem like a much easier choice, and I don't think the West still is in such a poor state that we wouldn't rust to the aid of the Baltics, and Russia knows it too, so it's not a terrible likely scenario either.
Overall, I think this is just more of Medvedev's madness of seeing what sticks or something. This won't.
