US Secretary of State Rubio said his talk with Lavrov was “frank” and noted the US will engage with Russia “whenever possible.” He added Trump is disappointed by Moscow’s lack of flexibility on Ukraine and confirmed the administration is working with the Senate on new sanctions.

Still zero action, all talk.

🤡 "We'll wipe America to hell. We'll create a radioactive tsunami that will forever create a strait named after Comrade Stalin," Solovyov told Trump after the audio leaked yesterday.

Trump said he threatened to bomb Moscow if Putin attacked Ukraine, 2024 fundraiser tapes show | CNN Politics

Lmfao. This is complete horseshit, or an empty threat, the dude still hasn't done fuck all to Russia nearly 6 months into his Presidency aside from "maybe we'll finally get sanctions after Putin rejected all my ceasefires and made a mockery out of me and ramped up attacks on Ukraine every time we were trying to get peace" How about you do the bare minimum before acting like a tough man?

Two massive drone attacks on Ukraine recently, over 700 drones a couple nights ago and nearly 400 drones last night, we're doing fuck all at stopping them from being able to build these, soon they'll probably be doing 1000 drones in a night. All this while America has pulled back on supplies to Ukraine, very obvious Putin is trying to take advantage of the decreased support.

One question about those drones and loitering munitions, are those being visible on RADAR? Or are they too small to be tracked correctly?

Dunno, but Ukraine is managing to shoot most down, for now.

Overnight on July 9, Russia launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine, using 741 air assault assets.

Shot down:
711/728 Shahed and other type drones
7/7 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles
0/6 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles

The Ukrainian Air Force reported on the massive air attack overnight. Russia used a total of 415 combined missiles and drones.

Shot down:
368/397 Shahed drones and other types
8/8 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
6/6 Kh-101 cruise missiles
0/4 S-300 ballistic missiles

Ukraine, and by extension most of the world, probably needs much more AA guns than there are in active duty right now. Before the advent of drones and loitering munitions those got increasingly mothballed and/or scrapped or just kept in deep reserve for use against helicopters. Now they're as useful, if not more, than they were in WW2.

Problem is that there simply aren't many AA guns around anymore. There's the Bofors 40mm/L70 that is still in production and getting upgrades, but apart from that one most are old designs. There's the Swiss Oerlikon GDF 35mm AA guns, but since it's Swiss it's possibly not allowed to be used in a war (though the Gepard uses those guns), but since Oerlikon is now owned by Rheinmetall that restriction might not exist anymore.

Other than those two most AA guns are actually ship-mounted turrets with some autocannons, generally Gatling-based and of lower caliber (20-30mm). Some big AA guns still exist, but those are all legacy systems.

Yes, because there are short range missles that are also smaller/cheaper, which are used mostly for drones.  This probably works better for larger drones no doubt, and the radar operator can distinguish drones from say planes/missles by the speed of the object.

There are at least a few companies that sell radars that are made/calibrated to spot small objects like drones.  I think that a company called Echodyne if i'm not mistaken, is one of those.

Since we're talking about drones, Ukraine has a solution but it needs funding.

🇺🇦❗️We will shoot down EVERYTHING if our partners hear what I told them. We have found a solution – interceptor drones. For the necessary finances, – Zelensky.

‼️ “Our people are not getting enough sleep. Putin wants to destabilize our society with such strikes. Their plan is 700-1000 drones per day.”

Here is what these sick fucking Russians do with their drones.

An absolutely horrific and unspeakable crime has been committed by Russians. A drone strike targeted civilians, killing a 14 months old baby boy instantly - before emergency services could even arrive.

This happened today in Pravdyne of Kherson oblast.

2/ His toys lay scattered, thrown by the force of the blast. According to Olexandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the little boy was inside the house with his great-grandmother at the time. She was injured in the attack.

The situation with Russians killing a toddler with a drone is especially despicable when you realize this wasn’t a stray artillery shell that landed 50 meters off, or a Shahed drone that hit a tall building, but an FPV drone, guided in real time by an operator watching it live

It doesn’t make firing missiles into homes any less horrible, but there’s a mental side to it. When different people pick the target, set the location, and fire - it’s one thing. But hunting civilians live while watching through an FPV feed? That’s a whole new level

The New York Post’s July 11th edition shows the body of 14-month-old Dmytryk on its cover, killed by a drone manually operated by a Russian operator. It’s a relief the world is seeing the truth, but devastating that it takes such unimaginable pain and suffering to be noticed
