Keir Starmer declares tonight he is willing to put British troops on the ground in Ukraine to enforce any peace deal. Significant change in position. First time he’s explicitly said so. Comes in @Telegraph article before crunch Paris meeting.

He wrote: “The UK is ready to play a leading role in accelerating work on security guarantees for Ukraine. This includes further support for Ukraine’s military – where the UK has already committed £3 billion a year until at least 2030.

“But it also means being ready and willing to contribute to security guarantees to Ukraine by putting our own troops on the ground if necessary. I do not say that lightly. I feel very deeply the responsibility that comes with potentially putting British servicemen and women in harm’s way.

“But any role in helping to guarantee Ukraine’s security is helping to guarantee the security of our continent and the security of this country. The end of this war, when it comes, cannot merely become a temporary pause before Putin attacks again.”

FUCK RUSSIA.

And you wonder why Russia seems to hate UK in particular. UK is always first or close to first to go against them. Good on them!

There's a fun history of UK and Russia constantly trying to fuck each other over, Lol. The Anglo-Russian War (1807 – 1812), Crimean War (1853 – 1856), The Great Game for control of central Asia. Then of course the espionage, Britain and Russia heavily spying on each other, UK refusing to extradite Russian citizens like the Chechen separatist leader Akhmed Zakayev. Then Russia deciding to drop deadly poisons on UK soil like on Litvinenko which soured relations even more.

UK was a pretty decent supporter of Ukraine back in 2014 after the Crimea invasion and then we've been a pretty strong supporter of Ukraine after 2022 as well. We may have not sent the most but we have been the ones to break taboos such as sending modern MBTs and Long-Range Missiles and then pushing to lift those restrictions, plus it's already known that British Special Forces are active in Ukraine.

Despite our military not being top dog lately, it is still powerful enough for Russia to see as a rival, and London is a massive economic hub. Putin and his mouthpieces always refer to us as evil Anglo-Saxons as well, it's clearly a deep rooted hatred, they believe that Anglo-Saxons rule the world. UK is also a nuke capable country and our nukes are not exclusively reserved for our own country. Plus we had little dependence on Russian gas which has helped us. Also Brits in general are very much "Fuck Russia" in my experience even at the best of times, Lol.

UK in the past obviously pushed America's agenda on Europe, I think we're seen as the middle-man between America and Europe. We have a capable Navy which controls a large portion of sea. We have always been strong contributors to NATO. Things are a bit rough for the UK right now but we were a global superpower for a very long time, it makes us an attractive rival for Russia whilst at the same time being too cowardly to go as hard on a country like America which is currently far more powerful than the UK, Lol.

European officials are working on a major new package to ramp up defense spending and support Kyiv as President Trump pushes for a quick end to the war in Ukraine.

"He's a killer and will never change": Zelensky about Putin. Ukraine lacks the power to push him out militarily, that's why I have to speak about it. Dialogue with Putin is like negotiating with a terrorist. Zelensky also regrets the West's choice to negotiate with the Russian dictator.

Trump said he could meet Putin in Saudi Arabia "very soon." Asked if Zelensky will be involved in conversations he said "Yes, he will be involved."

Funny how that even is a question.

Conflicting reports. Ukraine is not invited and is not sending a team to negotiations in Saudi Arabia, BBC writes. Trump's special envoy, Witkoff, confirmed that US and Russian delegations will go there.

Negotiating Ukraine’s future without Ukrainians, the EU, NATO, and the free world is unacceptable, says ex-PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

"This smells bad. The optics are very poor," he told DW, urging the U.S. to stand with Ukraine to avoid a "European Afghanistan."

More footage from the same attack. Waves of infantry supported by tanks -some with mine trawls- and IFVs -waving the red flag- try to reach Ukrainian positions. One by one they are taken out by FPV drones.

All that is left is destroyed Russian equipment.

Russia’s advance has slowed across the front. One reason: winter—bare trees expose infantry to drones. Another: Russian exhaustion. Ukraine, also short on troops, relies on drones, and it’s working—🇷🇺losses have risen every month for the past five months.

Yeah it's really something. Everyone in the Trump administration just says different things, sometimes it's even contradicting. Do they like, not have meetings or something?

Meetings bore that ADHD-riddled dipshit.

Once again I am leaving the Munich Security Conference in a low mood. Amongst all the noise, the US signalled their plans for Europe, so things are becoming clearer. But things are clearly not good.
