🇬🇧 UK leaks development of "Snapper" & "Wasp" naval drones for Ukraine. These new UMVs, rapidly developed to aid Kyiv, are undergoing final testing. Ukraine's maritime drones have already dealt heavy blows to Russia's fleet.

Aren't all of Ukraine's current naval drones domestically produced? Would these be the first exported naval drones? I'd say about time if so, I was wondering last year why we weren't seeing countries developing naval drones for Ukraine given how effective they've been at taking out Russia's Navy and they're things that can actually be handed over to Ukraine, unlike ships, which can't enter the Black Sea.

Trump announced plans to meet with Zelensky next week. He -once again- spoke about the sheer numbers of dead and wounded and stated that it would have never happened it he was President. Trump also said they aim securing Ukrainian rare metals.

I hate Trump and this stuff makes me hate him even more but it makes me respect Zelenskyy even more. He has gone from a simple comedian to an incredible politician who knows how to work around so many complex situations. It's a deal that Zelenskyy had in mind but saved it for a Trump Presidency solely so Trump could take the credit, I bet Zelenskyy deep down must hate Trump but he will do whatever it takes to save his country and thus bites his tongue and has never abandoned Ukraine.

He knows to play to Trump's ego, offer him up an offer so good that he can't possibly pass it up, but the con for Russia is that a significant portion of these resources are in Russian occupied territory, so if Trump wants them as well, then Russia will have to piss off, but even then Ukraine still has a lot of resources in territory they hold, it will give Trump a political win in the sense that America gets a hugely valuable resource and makes supporting Ukraine "worth it" to the selfish assholes who are only in it for money.

Why would selfish Republicans reject the offer at this stage? It's a choice between pressuring Ukraine to surrender and receiving nothing in return, except a major loss to America's name, millions dead and a Russian win or supporting Ukraine and in exchange receiving hundreds of billions worth of resources and giving a black eye to Russia at the same time.

"Putin is not just grabbing them (minerals) along with the land, he is already thinking about how to get other partners in his alliance - North Korea, Iran and he will give them access." "Of course, they have not seized 20% of our mineral resources, it is less. Much less. Nevertheless, it is still hundreds of billions." "We need to stop Putin and protect what we have - a very rich Dnipro region, central Ukraine." "It seems to me that Trump can say to Putin: 'Listen, you just took trillions, it doesn't work like that. You have to give back what belongs to another country'."

"This is very rich land. This does not mean that we are giving it away to anyone, even to strategic partners. We are talking about partnership. Let's develop this together, make money, and most importantly, it's about the security of the Western world." "The investment models could be different. The partners agree on how they will invest. Sometimes it is 50-50, if there are two partners; maybe three or four. The United States are the first - we first shared this plan with them."

"We are ready and willing to have contracts for LNG supplies to Ukraine. And of course, we will be a hub for the whole of Europe." "We are ready to have contracts and to enable it through us to other EU countries, with pleasure. I know that our American partners support it. We are also ready to let our American partners into this sector, into this market. I think this is also part of the security for Ukraine and Europe, because this is not Russian gas."

If you're still reading, have you ever stopped to consider the following?

  • How come a country of 140-150 million people has only one person even potentially fit to lead, and everyone seriously opposing him ends up either in prison or dead? How likely is it that you just happened to elect the most capable person in your country in over 20 years after a relatively short troubled period?
  • How many medias presenting significant opposing views to the current regime can you find in your country? Here in Finland, even the state-owned media is critical of our regime. Can you say the same of yours, or any of the major medias?
  • What do you think would happen if you openly opposed your regime? I don't mean violent opposition, I mean simply voicing your opposition calmly and using truthful arguments.
  • How do you feel about using a country's power against less powerful countries? If you think it is justified, how do you feel about the US and its power?
  • What makes you think it's your trustworthy sources that are trustworthy instead of mine? Is it your trustworthy sources telling you they're trustworthy, or have you ever doubted them? It makes sense for people to stop and think their sources, and having done that a bit, I can consider my sources fairly trustworthy or at least identify the less trustworthy ones. On the other hand, much of the content created by Russian media that I sometimes run into simply doesn't match my own experiences etc., but I can't really say that for our own media.

Anyway, just wanted to provide some food for thought in case you're still lurking around. You don't seem like a troll (unless you're very bad at trolling), just poorly informed and misguided due to the circumstances you live under.

As an expansion on your third point

There were reports that anyone who voted no or declined to vote in those sham referendums was later arrested.

Equally Russia claims those regions in their entirety despite not controlling much of them, meaning said sham referendum didn’t cover all of those regions - so even if they weren’t shams they how could they be applied to the bits that didn’t take part?

Then factor in the huge numbers of the populations from their have been displaced due to the fighting so weren’t there to vote despite it being their home. Equally Russia appears to have settled large numbers of Russian citizens in those regions. Why do the displaced Ukrainian not get a say whilst the illegally settled Russians do?

In other words, shame referendums that aren’t valid.

I don't know whether Trump is going to take the bait, but at the moment it's seeming like Zelenskyy might be playing Trump really hard here. In general, it's starting to look a bit like Trump is fairly easy to outplay, and he'll just convince himself he's won anyway.
