Forums - Gaming - GTA Remaster Trilogy Has Sold ~10 million

I am so glad I refrained from getting this.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Why are some angry or disappointed? If the buyers enjoyed their purchase, what's the problem?

The problem is... It is a sub-par, terrible port of the mobile release.

* New lighting system can come into conflict with some HDR displays.
* Missing Music.
* The Rain will obscure your vision, it's just a cascading 'wall' texture that is around the character.
* Glitches like NPC's missing faces, disappearing heads, clipping issues.
* Sound effects are "off" and not true to the original.
* Not 60fps with the power of the Playstation 5 and Series X.
* Poor frame pacing.
* Removal of fog that added to atmosphere.
* Missing/Mismatched textures.

In short... Instead of taking the very solid Playstation 2/Xbox/PC versions... They used the mobile ports, complete with all it's issues.

Are people having fun? I don't doubt that at all, still going to be better than Cyberpunk or Battlefield 2042 or whatever... But this is Rockstar. This is Grand Theft Auto. - We should absolutely expect and demand quality, not a half-assed cash grab.

Bad textures. Messed up faces.

A lot of words on buildings and cars are gibberish thanks to the AI they used.

They keep blindfolded the Nintendo community with these awful ports , like the shining in room 237 bathroom scene where the game is one sexy woman your kissing (buying it) then after playing it she's a hidous monster (bad port) but I'm unsure if Nintendo community woke up from the horror and walked away? they still probably kissing her like Kingdom hearts 3 cloud version (Hopefully stop)? Besthesda is great ported Doom Eternal plays runs great on Switch. And I love Nintendo heartfully I'm tired of Nintendo getting taken advantage .

Did they sell well at all? Do we know the numbers of the GTA Collection by platform?

Because most people did not enjoy their purchase.

I can only assume that the Assassin’s Creed Ezio remasters will be in a better state when they come to Switch at around the same time as physical GTA Trilogy hits stores. There’s not many expecting one last patch to hit next week to get GTA into adequate port territory on Switch.

There has been work done to lift it from broken or bad to poor or just below mediocre as far as ports go, but I don’t think any studio can salvage that into something you could call a good port. No publisher would give them the time or budget.

The Ezio collection won't be a mobile port done by an incompetent studio. It should be fine if the Rebel Collection is anything to go by.

About 10M more than it should have. But well I guess there were 10M people happy with their purchase.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Just goes to prove how dumb we are, collectively. Goddamn. As long as sloppy work keeps getting rewarded; guess what? Sloppy work will keep on being done.

Well I hope those people got a refund.
