Will SWSH surpass RGB's Lifetime sales?

With the recent sales update, it was revealed that SWSH has now surpassed GS and is the second best selling Pokemon game. Still has about 8 million more to go before it passes RGB though. Do you guys think it can happen?

I personally don't think it will and that it will end off around the 28-29 million range. It certainly helps SWSH's legs that it got DLC instead of a third version and the fact that each Switch Pokemon game looks differently visually and isn't dependent on the other games, for better or for worse.

I honestly wouldn't rule it out totally though. Even a new generation doesn't necessarily have to cut into SWSH's legs. Really the main thing that would've hurt it would've been a third version.

What do you guys think? What do you think lifetime sales will be?

It shouldn't but it will, well hopefully Arceus will beat SW/SH

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

no because gen 9 will be out next year probably

I hope it does just to see the salt.

If the next Pokemon gen comes in 2-3 years, Sw/Sh has a frightening chance of beating RGB. If it comes sooner, it won't.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

@Darwinianevolution I don't think we will have to wait 2-3 years for the next generation. It's more likely, in my opinion, that it will be next year (maybe it will even be teased during the 26th anniversary later this month). Even then, a new generation doesn't have to completely cut off SWSH's legs. XY and ORAS still moved some units after SM released.

They just released Legends Arceus, and Game Freak may be interested in maximize its numbers. They won't cut its legs so soon, not to mention selling that sweet DLC to include some (keypoint here being some) of the missing pokemons. And while SwSh will continue selling, having to compete with both Arceus and the next gen will slow them down quite a lot.

Finally after 25 hours, we are getting a change to the Pokemon formula, do you know how thankful we should be to Nintendo? If we all buy two copies each, Nintendo might even fix the Joycon issue.

Finally?  A day is not that long of a wait.

Oh sorry, guess Nintendo innovation moves that fast!
