Can you have multiple flagships? If it's at all plausible, they might end up with two (or more, if they so desire).

Guess it depends on how you define flagship. Like Nintendo you can easily call Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Mario Kart, and Smash flagship franchises for example.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I think it will drive up Halos sales, synergistic effect! Hence, halo will remain the flagship.

What have we come to?  shakes head

It will end up on game pass for windows PCs.

After this gen I can see Microsoft dropping consoles and making everyone get PCs lol.

I don't know about that. I think it's a near certainty that this is the last generation or Microsoft sells a console with a disk drive though. It's clearer and clear every day that their only long-term interest is in the subscription model.   If you read between the lines of their PR speak, they have essentially said this. They're not trying to push people out of the traditional gaming model, but they are trying to make their new model so attractive that it doesn't make sense for gamers to do anything else.

I'd say Minecraft is their flagship franchise.

Yer at that point i'd consider it more a set topbox with a subscription. It probably run off the cloud too.

However if you dont want that option they will let you run of your PC like they do now some of their games.

Halo will always be the Xbox flagship title.
Also MS own the monopoly of FPS games.
They need to do some heavy cross overs. Halo in CoD etc

I was actually thinking EA is probably very happy about these purchases being made by MS. That means more people may buy EA shooters on Playstation.

I'm sure EA will join the Microsoft family fairly soon relatively speaking.

I might be wrong, but I think EA is too reliant on licensed IPs for MS to consider that purchase. I assume those IP also have an expectation of being multiplat.

I assume MS would be happy to take the original IPs though.
