I'm a bit confused about what is meant by "Best Surprise of 2021"?
Is it supposed to be the opposite of Most Disappointing, so a game that outdid expectations?

You know, at some point I'm going to have to play current videogames, instead of being 2-5 years behind the new releases...

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Why Atelier Ryza 2 in the most disappointing list?

Why isn't Grand theft auto trilogy in the "Most disappointing game" category?

Also Guardians of the Galaxy should be in the "Best Surprise" category as I certainly assumed it was gonna be a turd until I played it.

One thing, do we have a "Best new IP" or "Best first installment", or something similar?

I know someone who wants to vote for it, and @ryuzaki57 found it disappointing compared to the first one in his review for the site too.

Remasters, collections, and enhanced re-releases aren't eligible for any awards.

Guardians of the Galaxy added to Best Surprise.

We should look at making a specific best remaster/remake category maybe for next years awards, what do you guys think?

Should it be about how faithful it is compared to the original, or about how much it improves over it?

The easiest way  would be to just have a general remaster/ remake of the year category and let the people vote for those games listed regardless .

It could be me, but I was missing Kena in any of the best genre categories, but it's no big deal.

To be honest out of the 7 or so new original game releases I played this year, I kinda think only Metroid Dread is really worth voting for.

Voted for Super Mario Party GOTY. Judge me all you want. Don't care that it's generally pretty unambitious and does not push gaming forward one iota. In the end, fun is fun.
