I'd never played either game until the remaster package that released a few years ago. Ended up really, really impressed by the campaigns and the gameplay. The visual overhaul was also excellent. Looking forward to this, although my expectations are a little lower, because the budget's obviously not huge and Deserts of Kharak was a bit disappointing (it wasn't bad, merely decent, which is a bit of a come down from the Homeworld titles).

Homeworld has one of the best Sci-Fi stories, to know they are continuing it is exciting. I really liked Deserts of Kharak though it isn't a mainline title and basically a spin off. Just like Halo Wars is to Halo.
Homeworld doesn't really need a huge budget, as its focusing more on how the first games looks. Its also being made by the original creators which know exactly what they want which is comforting to know.
My fingers are crossed it turns out every bit as good as the originals. They have a lot to live up to yet its been so long that i think ill be happy regardless just to play the genre again.
