I had no idea that section 8 became so popular. I was the first person to post in there (other than kenzo) and I never bothered checking back on it.

Looks like I missed out on a lot of fun >_>

man the things i miss when out of town

 1. the point was not do anything majorly wrong, more to get away from the immaturity.

2. There would never have been porn there otherwise I would have permabanned someone.

3. probably wouldnt be the greatest idea mattering topics.

4. Section 8 had 3 moderators excluding me, it was fine.

but havent you achieved the exact opposite with this? I mean you have proven to be the most immature bunch on this site. 

It seems that you want these forums so you can invite your friends, and exclude everyone else. Hence why there were rules, no spammers, no people who don't agree with my point of view, no people under 1000 posts even if they provide better insight than those with 2000+ and have been here longer, and only if I say so. Those kind of rules just say, "I want an elite board for all the 'cool' people".

If ioi really wants to make private forums, then so be it, but I see no need for them whatsoever.

If you guys want this private forum to chat on, why not just create your own forums. From what I gather a few of the people on the list are capable of doing this. I even had 5 friends who had their own free forum, I'm sure you can find some site that will give you free space and a way to hook up a forum.

^actually lots of people had conflicting views there they just weren't disruptive which was what the point was. And I would also assume you hate every club and fraternity on the planet for their requirements as well. Do you also hate G-mail.

Clubs exit as a way to filter more people of mutual interest together and that also goes for subsection. Different clubs have different rules and ways of getting members and some are exclusive not for the sake of elitism but for the sake of filtering unwanted attention from those who would cause problems.

There are many example of threads here that have been hijacked do to there subject and even some shut down because of others immaturity. The interest of section 8 was NOT to have an area of friends but of people who are are mature and can respect other peoples opinion. It was on this site because everyone likes this site and it community and would like to remain here.

The forums are typically very slow most of the time I'm on, I personally would have never signed up if I knew it would take 1000 posts before I could talk with the more active members or read what they think about certain sales.

Well my initial idea was to have the section to do research for gaming articles that would be presented later to everyone. But that idea got rejected.

As far as the thousand post thing I guess that would become an issue. Probably 100 would be suitable as the main point of that was so trolls wouldn't bother us. I do see your point though.
