Damn. I can't read when I'm high. Takes me like ten minutes a page X_X

A lot depends on how stoned I get. Normally when I am in couch potato mode, I need something I don’t have to pay too much attention to but if I just have a hit or two then I am good to go.
I think my new favorite thing to watch while stoned is campy horror. We did a marathon of bad 80’s horror and it was amazing

Romero’s 86 film Day of the Dead, while high, was one of the most disturbing experiences I’ve ever had while watching a horror film. I loved it!
And on the reading, I think that is something that comes with experience as well. I don’t know if the brain just adapts to it, but I remember not being able to keep track of things as well when I was younger. Nowadays, reading is fun while high. So is just doing creative things in general, playing guitar, keyboard, or drawing, writing (although, it always drifts into the most inappropriate subjects). I try to stay away from certain places on the Internet when high because I belong to a few communities where I don’t want to write something abrasive, obnoxious, or silly sounding by accident; but, this is a gaming site, that’s all a part of our culture, so this site isn’t one of those :D
Speaking of Romero, since Dawn of the Dead is stuck in a rights battle that won’t end any time soon. The film is basically free on YouTube. The original version, which is HIGHLY political compared to the 2004 action remake—so, for example, the action remake features zombies taking over because they can run fast, bite and infect quickly and they overwhelm the military; I’m the 78 original, the zombie outbreak spread because people refused to take it seriously, would harbour zombified loved ones from the authorities, and battles broke out between government and militias, and lots of accidents where the zombies got loose and infected more people; so, people destroyed society in the 78 version.
The action remake isn’t the same story either, just a loose basis on the fact that they both begin with a sequence of chaotic scenes and then end up in a mall - although, the original actually feels like a mall (they take advantage of all the locations for resources and such) but the remake is more of a backdrop. The other thing about the original is (much like Night of the Living Dead) they pay attention to the news of the world, so it’s a lot bigger than just what’s going on inside the mall. The difference is, because the 79 Dawn of the Dead takes place over several months (as shown by the progress of the pregnancy) it shows the collapse of the US and the world while they’re building their new society in the mall.
Both films are worth watching, but IMO the action remake is a good fun film, but the original is one of the greatest horror themed films of all time—it’s the sort of horror that leans more into the genre of apocalyptic satirical dark comedy. Day of the Dead, though, leans more into the suspense and disturbing side of things. I think Day of the Dead is the most underrated of the Romero films.
