Um, I keep reading how the PS3 is now going to pass the 360 by next year, next christmas, and so on or the 360 is dead, over the hill, or beginning its decline, and so on.  This post is just a small dose of reality-injection.  It's not manufactured "bad news" but a simple statement about the reality of the current situation.  Perhaps you could tell me what the "manufactured bad news" is?  If I were manufacturing bad news, I would have come in and posted, say, "Hey, the Lair analog patch is out and the reviewers still say it sucks!".  But I didn't do that, no did I?

This thread and the one about "will the 360 reach 50 million" illustrates the point precisely.  People don't think when they throw out these wild projections.

And, if you don't like the thread, title, or anything else, why did you come here and post?  The best thing to do is just ignore it and hope it drops off the hot-topics list.  Shame on you for annointing yourself the post-police and feeling as if you are the greater moral good to lecture others on posting.  Perhaps you should pause for a moment before you hit that "post" button in the future.

And you are manufacturing bad news, bad old news at that.  We've already discussed this ad nauseum when it first started outselling it, and the more animated PS3 fanboys said it'd finish outselling it this year.  This thread is done to death and old, and has been discussed before.  But 'lulz' for trying to justify a sorry attempt to take a cheap jab at the Playstation 3.

He is indeed correct, it's not PhD level maths............

We are week 17.

If you take at face value my saying that the holdays are like an extra 14 regular week in a year ( do the maths for last years, it's pretty close).

That leaves 49 weeks for this year and 66 weeks for 2009.

So by January 1st 2010 the PS3 would be 460k units behind the 360 and would catch it sometime in March 2010.

Some of us are assuming the gap between the 2 will increase slightly in 2009 and it will actually catch up with it at the end of 2009, not such a big stretch....

 



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Considering that the Wii is outselling both and the 360 is only being outsold regularly by the PS3 a few thousand, i'd say it will take more then a year for the PS3 to come close to the 360. As for games, well....thats quite a bit self explanatory. The Wii is the unfortunate winner of this gen.



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

On topic: You are right, I don't like off-topic posts on the main page.  The difference here is that I complained in the appropriate forum rather than in the off-topic posts themselves.  You know the difference and you know I'm not being hypocritical but you'd rather continue down this path -- so be it.  You came into my post which is sales related in the sales forum and attacked the post and/or me.  Yeah, that's the right thing to do and the right way to behave on a forum.  I stand corrected.
