I'm sure they have been working on this for years - and it might be ready. Imagine getting "episodes to play", delivered weekly via WiiConnect24 (maybe 100pts each or something).

Actually, I had a thought a few weeks back about a Pokemon MMO concept:
"Pokemon World MMO"
The key concept is very simple. Its an MMO, split into lots of servers - at least one per country or region where players are in (Europe, US, Australia, etc..).
Each region (i.e. in the real world) has its ybe OWN set of Pokemon. Be a lot of commons (maybe 50), and a lot of uniques to that region (50-100).
You can't CHOOSE your server - its based on your IP, or where you live.
So in effect, the Pokemon you catch is based on where you live - you CANT get the others.
There are regular colliseum battles/comps (daily?), where lots of people can sign up (may cost money?), and you battle people your rank, from other parts of the world - for Pokemon. There might also be some form of trading system (like in Diamond).
The idea is to get people to *physically* travel to new parts of the planet to "collect them all", or to make friends with people OS. Maybe by making friends, you can form a group, and visit "their" server with a return trip later.
People playing in "rare" parts of the world would have a chance to catch some really rare Pokemon (maybe based on real world local fauna?).
There should also be some "single" Pokemon, where only one person can own/hold at once - they keep them for a maximum of say a week, then they return to the wild. The owners of these Pokemon are displayed somewhere online, maybe they get to enter a special online battle (others can watch the battle of course).
