Thanks for the data!

Here's everything I've found for Gen 8 in chart form:

It's pretty crazy to see Switch having the highest peak sales in the UK by a wide margin.

I think going by this graph, I've tried to extrapolate and this is what I get.

Total sales

PS4 7,540,000

XB1 5,640,000

NSW 3,980,000

After 4 years

Ps4 4,200,000

NSW 3,980,000

XB1 3,310,000

UK Switch outsold France this year, which would be a first I think. I wonder why France didn't get the huge boost.

Did we get 2020 HW sales for France? I was actually looking for it the other day but came up empty handed. All the rest of the European sales figures I have was the end-2019 figures that got posted on ResetEra last summer.

I think we only had a bad extrap.  No hard figures (but we'll get a CESA report again later this year with cleaner figures).

This suggests +40% growth, which is ~1.72M.

It also says LTD sales are "around 4.7M", and this comes via taking sold to 7% of France population literally.  This results in ~1.4M sold (because end of 2019 was said to be 3.3M).  This doesn't line up with the reported 40% growth.

So its a BS foundation either way IMO, really soft extrapolations that are being reported as actuals.  We'll have to wait for cleaner numbers.

don't have individual brands, but only the amount of total hardware sales.

The source I saw was similar to mk7sx,  but in French.

https://www.nintendo-town.fr/2021/01/18/les-chiffres-de-ventes-de-jeux-et-de-consoles-nintendo-switch-en-france/

I don't think the final numbers will differ greatly though.

Yeah. It does sound a bit screwy. It's either 1.4M or 1.72M. The latter sounds a lot more in line with the increases we saw in the U.S. (+38.5%), UK (+57.9%), and Japan (+31.1%). The former would be a much smaller increase of less than 14%. Not impossible, but it would be odd considering that France has been Nintendo's biggest market in Europe this past generation.

I guess we'll find out for sure in August or September, which has been when we get those numbers (based on hiska-kun's threads over at Era).
