Forums - Gaming Discussion - Age of Calamity

After having completed the main quest in AoC and working on - a certain event I won’t mention just in case some folks are yet to reach that point - I just had to make a thread about this games incredible soundtrack. It is, simply put, sublime. The champions themes fit perfectly both with their personalities and their respective locales, the big battle themes are rousing and bombastic; yet, it is the melancholic, reflective and beautiful pieces that actually had me tearing up at some points. I’ve actually been extremely moved playing this game, and I have to show some massive love for this soundtrack as I feel it won’t get the recognition it deserves. A lot of love and passion has gone into this soundtrack and the game overall, and I wasn’t expecting to be blown away with it like I have been. Due to the story and the music, the hectic gameplay and the upgrade mechanic on the world map, this has genuinely become one of my favourite games of all time. I loved BotW and this has further cemented my adoration for that game - it feels like the perfect accompaniment. Have any of you guys played the game, and if so, what are your thoughts on the game and the soundtrack?

Loved the game, honestly didn’t care about the sound track one bit though. I guess it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t on the level of other big games by any means.

Complete the game at 100% Normal and Hard. I am on the very hard now , the game is awesome I really hope there will be somekind of DLC and about the sound track I found it so cool sometimes epic ^_^.

Glad you’re enjoying the game! It is sometimes epic and very moving. I can’t imagine playing on very hard haha - thats commitment!

Not done yet. Not sure how much there’s left.

It’s an okay game to me, I thought the first game was better. The story doesn’t really match with the canon from Breath of the Wild, so I can’t really consider it as such. Only a couple of the characters are fun and comfortable to play with, and the Divine Beasts are barely controllable at all. The soundtrack is fine I guess, but I’m not really noticing it much. Like I said, enjoyable, but nothing more

I loved everything about the game, especially the soundtrack. This is the kind of soundtrack I think that BotW was needing.

It's a great game, I've played about 30 hours so far and done 15 story chapters and 72 side missions. It's super addictive. Without spoilers can anybody tell me if there is a sizable amount of post game content.?

There certainly is! No spoilers but yes there is plenty still to do. Not so much main story-wise but you won’t be without things to do.

Name me a game in the same genre that can even match Revali's themes and I might be able to agree with your statement.

What does genre have anything to do with it?  I’m sure it probably has the best sound out of all the warriors games, but that means nothing since it isn’t a very well developed genre.  Sound is a universal presence in all games, regardless of genre.

After about chapter 6, your map will get flooded with side missions and challenges.  I did all side content as it came up to thag point, then I decided that there was so much that I was better off beating the game and coming back to it.

Also once you beat the game, random story missions will have a blood moon.  This is basically a harder version for posy game, and really makea grinding and looking for Koroks more interesting during mission replays.  There is not as much as HW1 and its adventure modes, but I still feel like what AoC offers is better overall.
