Open world games automatically start from a base 90 score, didn't you know that?

Except they don't. I can think of many open world games that scored well under 90. I can think of many that scored under 80, we had 2 just in the last 2 months.

I'm not saying they necessarily score over 90. Besides, have you seen how many non-open world games score under 90 or 80? :P

Base score for games as a whole is around 70 or even 80. You need to be a special kind of garbage to go below.

Ultimately, this is a reflection of the low grade journalism that developed around (and was partly instigated by) the industry, in my opinion.

My ps4 copy is coming and I'm unsure if I should return it or not. I'm not sure I should give it a go on ps4 pro.

Enhanced consoles and next generation seem to deliver a good experience. It's an awesome game and I recommend it to anyone.

I'm really on the fence, even though on this video, ps4 pro doesn't look that bad

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

It's funny how fast we've gone from, graphics are good enough this gen we don't need new consoles, to how can you expect new games to run on this old hardware. At least we skipped the 'diminishing returns and doesn't look much better' stage this time :p

What happened to that magic scalability.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Get it if you want to play it and enjoy. Fuck the critics, most of them are just people needing something to bitch about because their lives suck or they were born with a stick up their ass.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

This is why they shouldn't combine the platforms and instead, have separate scores for different platforms similar to metacritic.

The irony is that PC is usually the platform to get the bad optimization when this happens, not the other way around.

But then again not lumping scores together you get these kinds of disparities on Metacritic:

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

XBO: 89

XSX: 83

PS4: 84

PC: 82

Except it's not a lie. Here is PS4 running at 30 fps for a good long while in DF's video: https://youtu.be/C5pHpQqhmR4?t=498

Other times in video it runs at about 25 fps, which isn't too bad. It only really has larger drops once they start driving around in a car, or during heavy shootouts with lots of AI characters. It's clearly a CPU issue, Jaguar just can't handle it. Jaguar has been a thorn in developers sides all gen really, especially the last few years as PC pulled further and further ahead.

There is clearly work to be done, they need to try and get it above 25 fps all of the time at least, but if you were ok with the performance of late gen 7 games like Far Cry 3 and GTA V on 360/PS3 (and many didn't even notice the framerate issues back in those days), you will probably be ok with the current PS4 performance most of the time.

What the fuck is that you are trying to achieve picking the only moment in the video where the game is 30 fps inside a building, game even hit fps in the tens on ps pro. Lets not forget the constant hard crashs game is getting , insane bugs. 25 fps is not aceptable anywhere. You are trying to make people spend 70 dolars on this and playing it on base consoles for what?

Dont listen to him or even me , go find for yourselfs how the game is. Its everywhere across the internet, cdp even admited its shitty , go see their tweets.

@Bolded: Indeed. Don’t.

I am currently playing it on PS4 Pro, and while obviously far from perfect, the issues aren’t as bad as your usual hyperbolic comments could lead people to believe. The game does require further fine tuning by the developers, for sure, but it isn’t nearly as bad as people like you are saying.

Maybe form your own opinion based on actual experience before getting on all those hate trains you so often get on.

So opencritic score is 86.
Coincidentally it's now the same as Cyberpunk 2077.

Picard face palm etc.

It is indeed not nearly as bad on ps4 pro as compared to base ps4. And sure it is still playable on base ps4, but it is not a level of playability that console gaming normally stands for. Frequent crashes (for a console game) with frequent very low fps dips (for a console game) and many glitches next to unfinished code. This is what you put up with in early access on PC, still playable, still enjoyable. Not what you expect from a finished console game.

I know consoles want to be more like PCs (or rather their users do) but this kind of glitchy, buggy, unfinished mess doesn't belong on consoles. I'm sure some people will find this still enjoyable to play https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/tony-hawks-pro-skater-5 but it rightly got panned.

Facepalm right back at you etc.

He mentioned the PS4 Pro in his comment. But you are so quick to jump on that hate wagon as well, you couldn’t catch that part.

But hey, whatever  you and the pitchfork crowd say.
