God of War (2018) has the potential to outsell the whole franchise before it combined. Impressive. Most impressive.

The interesting thing about Gran Turismo is  like you said they had the sales of all their games on the website and updated them regularly, but stopped with sport .

I wonder if they being alone with regards to having the sales on their site had something to do with their unique status among Sony studios. that being they are a subsidiary with their own board.

Perhaps PD had authorization to put the sales numbers because they were the studio that was selling many times over the others.

I feel its more likely the fact that they are a subsidiary so they are run as a separate entity.

I think you may be right. PD iirc is the only dev team with members on the Playstation board as well: Kazunori Yamauchi. I don't know why SIE is so reluctant to give individual sales regularly.

They have made a big improvement by now providing quarterly 1st party sales.

They have their own PD board that being 5 members  with Yamauchi and Kaz being the only ones I knew off, not sure if Kaz is still on it since the rules of incorporation most likely designates  a seat to Sony's CEO .

But then for GT Sport they stoped giving the number =p ... do they give financial statement?

That isn't the only thread, now a game needs to sell 30M to be considered a success =p

Tell me about it. The exact same people getting triggered it's really funny.  Sony First party reached the 10M threshold but Sony does not have a 15M seller and you cannot use this and that. Reached 15M, Please, Sony doesn't have a 20M seller. Reached 20M. Seriously!? It doesn't have a 30M seller yet. Your point is invalid.

Cannot wait the day Spider-Man PS4 reached 30M. I need to see that new goal post.

Its sad you guys are so obsessed with the Nintendo comparison you can't just celebrate Sonys success. No one said anything about selling 20M not being a success. Instead of being so hurt, accept that one company having a hand full of 20M sellers isn't comparable to another having a hand full of 30M sellers. Once again, you guys only want to acknowledge Sonys improvement as if Nintendo hasn't improved. Thats not moving the goalposts, its raising the bar. Imagine being athlete A, whom averaged 25 points per game in season 1. Athlete B averaged 20 points per game in season 1. Season 2, athlete A raises his average to 30 ppg and athlete B raises his to 25 ppg. According to you two, athlete B has entered athlete A level. Athlete A tells athlete B, I'm on another level now lol, try to keep up!

On topic: Great job Sony, you have truly done a hell of a job this gen. Continue raising the bar and pumping out the games.

Not good enough GTAV multi platform is the line.

Any idea why alot of Sony series aren't updated here?

Killzone series has more than 10M sales (old data):
Killzone 1 - 0.94M
Killzone 2 - 3.02M
Killzone 3 - 2.81M
Killzone: SF - 2.1M
Killzone Liberation - 0.9M
Killzone Mercenary - 0.92M

LittleBigPlanet has more than 15M:

LittleBigPlanet 1 - 4.5M

LittleBigPlanet 2 - 3.43M

LittleBigPlanet 3 - 2.7M -> 2.06M (PS4) + 0.64M (PS3)

LittleBigPlanet PSP - 2.61M

LittleBigPlanet Vita - 1.38M

LittleBigPlanet Karting - 0.88M

And this aren't updated numbers.

The same for Resistance, Sly, Infamous, Ratchet, Singstar, MLB: The Show, Syphon Filter and so on...

And not related to Playstation, I remember seeing some news about the Digimon Cyber Sleuth sales, but there wasn't any update here.
Found it: https://www.vgchartz.com/article/445834/digimon-story-cyber-sleuth-series-ships-15-million-units/
But the game still shows 0.1M sales for PS4 (not updated).

Edit:

The MotorStorm Series has the Publisher has "Unknown".

Same for the new Spider-man games.

Can anyone fix that?

The number is 1.5 million for the series not 15 million and it consists of 2  games and includes digital that VGchartz doesn't track , having said that lots of data info drops away over time because it becomes harder to track and obtain. this trend is even more pronounced with older and smaller selling titles also less time is put into adjustments for older titles because even if it's available it can be hard to find let alone verify or behind a paywall and in our case it is done by volunteers.

I was talking about the SIE/Sony franchises.
That Digimon "sub series" was strange because it came from Bandai Namco itself and it was announced here. You could create Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth series (1.5M units sold, never said 15) and even Digimon Story series (it has alot of games).

But the Sony franchises (with millions of sales) aren't so hard to track.

Just from the data from VGChartz:
LittleBigPlanet - 15.5M+
Killzone - 10M+
Resistance - 7.5M+
Syphon Filter - 7.5M+
Ratchet series wasn't updated (the reboot sold more than 5M copies).
Sly, Infamous, Twisted Metal and MLB: The Show don't appear as a series in the website too.
And there are other problems such has the MotorStorm and Singstar series having the Publisher has "Unknown" and so on.
I was just talking about Sony franchises with more than 5M sales. They aren't so hard to track.

There are still more series (like WipEout and Ape Escape) that are harder to know for sure how much they sold.

Anyway, this site (all the mods, volunteers, members) is doing an amazing job. I am just trying to help.
