Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony First party Game Sales Thread

Very impressive sales. I wish Sony would give more up to date sales numbers for some titles.

Any idea what the breakdown for last of us between ps3 and ps4 is.

That was given at one point something like 5-7M on PS3 versus 14-20M on PS4.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Looking at the numbers on this site, the ps3 version was at just over 8 million and ps4 version was just under 12 million. I couldn't see the ps4 version being to much over 14 million now.

People continue to underestimate the ongoing growth of Sony's IPs and the Playstation brand. PS5 numbers will blow well past PS4 in both hardware and 1st party software, regardless of Xbox Series/Game Pass performance.

Sony's IP saw phenomenal growth this gen. There's a lot of talk about the Switch boost for Nintendo IPs but the PS4 boost for Sony IPs is just as impressive.

It must be checked when was the last time the site updated the sales and if it was with Sony numbers because they didn't account for digital.

MLB the Show records record sales each year. NPD mentioned that the 2019 version was the best selling baseball game ever (over MVP 2004). Looking at old NPD data from March and April 2004, sales were 658k for the two months for just the xbox and PS2 versions.

That thread is a freaking Gold Mine now.
I just saw a recent thread (Spider-man thread) and these specific persons are moving the goal post already.

OT:
I am still looking for ZhugeEX tweet where he confirmed that Days Gone and GTD sold 5M plus.

That isn't the only thread, now a game needs to sell 30M to be considered a success =p

Tell me about it. The exact same people getting triggered it's really funny.  Sony First party reached the 10M threshold but Sony does not have a 15M seller and you cannot use this and that. Reached 15M, Please, Sony doesn't have a 20M seller. Reached 20M. Seriously!? It doesn't have a 30M seller yet. Your point is invalid.

Cannot wait the day Spider-Man PS4 reached 30M. I need to see that new goal post.

Needs to sell 80M like Wii Sports.

Were not far off considering the SM Remastered on PS5
