Since we had some weeks to play GoT I think it is time that we can start talking the game story, details, appreciation and whatnot with spoilers allowed.

Please remind to use spoiler tags so moderators don`t get spoiled by accident if someone report a post.

I loved the story and the ending was one of the best ever of video games. I had tears in my eyes twice in this game but I very nearly cried at the ending, I had to fight it. Love that last choice which took me all of a half second to think about and It was so good I don't even wanna see the other ending.

I had no doubt in the end, I was resolved at it, but it was heart felt.

@DonFerrari There aren't many flaws in it and I think they reached what they set out to do but the ones that got me and helped weigh down my score from reaching the 10 was being forced to go the Ghost route after spending so much time trying to hold onto honour yet even that kinda worked cause it reflected in me the change that Jin had to go through. I'd still have much prefered they went the infamous route and had the story react to the path you take cause it did cause some inconsistencies, for one there was a battle to take Castle Shimera and I'm out there fighting all noble like alongside Jins uncle and then cutscenes start showing Jin poisoning the mongols, pretty fucking weak in that regard. Aside from that, Jins character doesn't match his Samurai upbringing and no matter what happened on the beach of after this I could never believe that he would have turned to the Ghost over the course of this game as much as they tried to show it develop it just never worked and also his character is pretty bland for the protagonist of the game, everyone else around him were so much better written like the Khan and Shimera for all the time they got on screen.

I mean, if this game was going for full emotional, 2020 blockbuster story telling I'd be much harsher but it's not, what it tries to be in a 20th century Samurai film it works really well apart from what I've mentioned and a few other small nit picks and open world pacing problems (never really a huge issue with the way the story is structured). Funnily enough, the games that have tried to get that emotion have failed in recent times and this is one of the few games that got to me, almost made me cry at the end and I think that is because those moments come in at the perfect time and they weren't forcing meladrama every other scene.

It's not the best video game story ever but it works and works really well at times.

That is true. They give you the option to play as Samurai, but in some points force a ghost approach just to force the narrative they wanted since you are the ghost of tsushima. And sure force some consequences. And I totally understand they wanting to follow a single path on the story.
