Inspired by another recent thread on metascores, I figured it might be interesting to gather even more score data and see if there's anything interesting there! The data is only more recent consoles though, but should offer more insight into the number of games by metascore on different platforms. Without further ado, here be charts (scores from Metacritic)!

Figure 1: Line chart

First we have the line chart in figure 1. Curiously, PlayStation 3 and especially Xbox 360 have a relatively high proportion of highly ranked games, compared to other platforms.

Figure 2: Bar chart

The line chart is not too useful for highly ranked games, so here we have the same data in a bar chart in figure 2. Here we see PlayStation and Xbox dominating the higher ranges, with Switch doing fairly well too, especially in the lower ranges.

Table 1: Exact numbers

And finally in table 1 we have the exact numbers for those interested in them. The highest score is 98 for Grand Theft Auto IV on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Sadly, there don't seem to be any huge anomalies here, but all the same, here are the charts!

Games like Nier Automata on xbox where less reviewer submit scores on it allows the game on Xbox One to be in the meta 90 realm.
