Nintendo's 2008 plans: Includes a new Zelda game and Super Mario Galaxy sequel!

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the company's new plans for 2008.
And although the interview's main focus was aimed towards his plans for the Wii Fit, the highlight was the mention of a possible Super Mario Galaxy sequel and a new Legend of Zelda title for Wii.
Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is interviewed in the latest issue of Famitsu. While the interview, which was done to commemorate the magazine reaching issue number 1000, is mostly reflection, Miyamoto did give a few hints on future plans.

First, the Balance Wii Board, the peripheral that's included with Wii Fit. The magazine noted that Wii Fit has been quite the success story for Nintendo so far. To this, Miyamoto responded that if the game sees success overseas as well, Nintendo may end up releasing separate titles that make use of the peripheral.

The magazine also asked Miyamoto the inevitable question about sequels, and he gave the expected answer. In case you have to hear to to believe it, Miyamoto is indeed interested in making a Super Mario Galaxy sequel. He's also thinking about the next Zelda title.
#This news is old but still interesting - in fact ignore it

More mario and zelda games... Would prefer new IP's to be honest!

^

I wouldn't. I'd rather have a new quality Zelda (like all before) than about any other game.

You're one of the Nintendo fanboys that hurts the company by only purchasing their core titles, aren't you? It's time to put Nintendo's Big Four (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon) to rest for a while to get some fresh meat out to market.

Mach Rider
Punch-Out (with dual-Wiimote & Balance Board use)
1080 Snowboarding
Project HAMMER
Pilotwings
Pikmin
Eternal Darkness
Kid Icarus
Geist
Ice Climbers
Excite Bike
Earthbound

Bring all these back in some form and build even more new experimental, risky, creative IP's.

Even more common franchises like StarFox and F-zero would be preferable to yet another damn Zelda game.  Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda and really love Metroid, but dammit, enough is enough.  It's time for something new.

Too much Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Pokemon in the last 8 years.  Way too much.  If they want to show that Nintendo is a new company and the Wii and DS are the perfect places for new, creative, and innovative games, then Nintendo themselves need to step up their game and quit relying so heavily on four key franchises.  They're getting more and more watered down and repetitive and less and less creative and eventful.  Nintendo needs to be more new, creative and innovative.  They want other devs and publishers to take risks, and Nintendo needs to be the one to lead the way by being riskier and more creative on their own.

Mario Galaxy sequel,huh....ever since Mario World,every Mario platformer has a different title...Mario World-Mario 64-Mario Sunshine-Mario Galaxy..so Mario Galaxy 2 would be weird.

BUT,if true,it´d be the 1st time since the NES we´d have more than 1 Mario adventure per generation (not counting SNES´ Yoshi´s Island).
