That is sad, perhaps for people that decide to see later they will have 4k available.

That's true but I'd rather have a 1080p 30fps stream than have it be delayed for another week or two for 4k any day of the week loll.

Yep from the look of it, it isn't a matter of bandwidth worry (I do remember the reveal event in 2013 streaming had a lot of issues due to man people on at same time) but the people preparing the content, perhaps the 4k rendering and transfering of assets wouldn't work as well with people out of office.

Well... you're sort of putting the mod in an awkward position. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but as a mod I like the chance to explain myself. In this situation, a mod is being put on blast, and any attempt to respond would most likely be derailing, even if the initial comment wasn't, as it would shift the conversation to the mod's actions, which is definitely not the topic. Then if a mod chooses to address it, as I'm doing now, we also have to say that you can't respond back to us here, which you can't, because allowing you to respond to messages like this would further derail the topic... So we have to either cut off the conversation, which can be seen as us shutting down any criticism, or allow the conversation to become about our actions, which is clear derailing.

It's a crappy no-win situation to be in. This is why we ask that issues such as this are handled either by reporting messages, you can report mod messages too which are handled by the head mod, PMs, or, if you think something is truly an issue that needs to be public, in the moderator thread. That is of course also part of the forum rules.

Meanwhile, we're discussing what to do with this thread.

Specific trailer uploads will definitely be 4k.

It's not a prob. I think the UE5 demo was a 1080p upload and no one cared.

But we certainly got the PS5 is weak, 1440p30fps, XSX would do it 4k60fps, anyway.

The UE5 demo was running at 1440p and 30fps.

Although they said they were still working on optimizing the engine. So it may end up being able to run at a higher res and/or framerate down the line. The engine will come out around mid 2021, so things will undoubtedly improve until then.

One thing is sure, as far as I’m concerned, if games look as good as this demo, I certainly won’t mind if they’re limited to a 1440p resolution.
