Forums - Nintendo - What to expect for Switch in the second half of the year?

I'm hoping for the mainline 3D Mario trilogy (64, SMG1, SMG2) in an HD remaster, with tweaks to 64 to modernize it (the camera is trash).

I don't know, I felt Odyssey didn't do it for me. I'm not saying you can't love it, or it's not a phenomenal game, it just wasn't for me. To me, it was a bit flattish feeling after the craziness of the Galaxy games and shooting from micro-planet to micro-planet, and walking around them. Maybe if I hadn't played the Galaxy games multiple times each, I'd feel differently about it.

The other game I am hoping gets released is Breath of the Wild 2.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I feel very starved on great titles for the switch. Not a fan of Animal crossing.
I have no hope for any good new game this year but two great remasters might show up.
But as of now, I'll settle for some news that anything noteworthy we do not know about is in the making.

Also, 3D World music was absolutely amazing while Odyssey's was in my opinion... A tad too generic for the most part (it still had some great themes though).

Lol wut ?

Everything in Odyssey was brand new, every idea, item, ennemies, worlds, even goals and gameplay were never done before. How can you describe it as "generic" ?

Maybe you should take another look at that quote. The only thing about the game I described as "generic" was the music.

My bad.

So, again:

Lol wut ?

Every theme is Odyssey was brand new, every idea, style, even songs with lyrics and instrumenrs never used before. How can you describe it as "generic" ?

Jump Up, Super star star has a unique style never featured in a Mario game, Steam Garden's theme uses '60s sounds, again, never heard before, the ending theme is kind of lackluster but still very original for a Mario game.

I knew you wouldn't let it pass xD

Maybe "generic" was not the correct word for what I meant.

What I wanted to say is that, in my opinion, Super Mario Odyssey soundtrack is pretty forgettable overall. I can't remember almost any tunes besides Jump Up Super Star, the Steam Garden's theme and the Fossil Falls theme. The soundtrack had very little impact on me while I was playing. Which was a huge contrast with Super Mario 3D World (and both Galaxy games, but those play on a league of their own). I can remember almost the entire soundtrack of that game (which by the way, has more unique themes and more personality than one might think) because it was just awesome with that big band style ^^

Odyssey soundtrack was pretty meh. It just didn't have enough power (to me at least).

BTW, I know that you said it because I called it "generic", but now that I have clarified what I meant: New and unique is not always better in my book.

At least we agree that Galaxys' soundtracks are far superior in every aspect.

But yeah I was nitpicking over the "generic" word

Oh, absolutely. Galaxy's soundtracks are among the best I've ever heard not just in a Mario game, but in any game. They are the kind of soundtracks I would actually buy on CD xD
