Mail in ballots is a disaster. Too much room for problems. Just vote in person. The extended voting period was the right call, not everybody can vote in one day.

The problem is republicans made it so (with rules) that you cannot start counting mail in ballots early (some places).
In some states it has to start, after they are finished counting all the other votes (ones that vote in person).
So it drags things out needlessly.

Then afterwards, the republicans complain that it takes too long, and elections should be decided the day of the vote.

This is supposed to be the biggest turnout in modern history. Yet they don't even break 2/3s of the eligeable population. That's pathetic. I hope voting reform is on the high priority list for next cycle. Not sure why it hasn't been. If democrats could get turnout to 75% they won't ever lose an election again.

A lot of voters are in either safe D or safe R states, and we know what that means with the electoral college. Worse, even, in safe districts due to all gerrymandering. No point on turning out in these circumstances.

Honestly, one of the worst voting "democratic" systems in the world, by far.

Those are already 2 of the things you can do to improve voting.

Kill the electoral college.

Restrict and reverse gerrymandering.

Make voting day a holiday or at least a Sunday.

Register every citizen automatically.

Increase number of polling places.

All of those things combined would be an automatic 10% more voter turnout. And then you just have to fix that horrible 2 party system and the US is on a good path to become a democracy.

Gave this a like, 100% agree.

Seriously the fact that you even have to register to vote, as a citizen is nuts.

America loves to shout from the top of the mountains, about being "home of the free" and the last true democracy in the world and such.
Meanwhile.... most of the world looks on at the elections and election systems in the USA, and thinks "this is corrupt, silly and not very fair or democratic".
Your system could do with a make-over, theres tons of room for improvements.

I’m talking more about the faulty signatures and potential for fraud. So many cases where people couldn’t follow the most basic criteria to submit a successful mail in ballot that were subsequently disqualified. Voting in person has what I believe the necessity of providing ID on the spot.

Looks like Nevada has started counting again. I'm pretty sure Biden was leading with ~8k earlier and the gap is now ~11.5k.

Nevada and Arizona look worrying. At this rate Biden desperately needs Pennsylvania.
