Is he a racist fascist? He's denounced white supremacy to the point that the KKK is a terrorist group now. I am wondering though if you're saying that you hate his supporters so much so I've got to ask. Can you be persuaded at all? Did it surprise you when it turned out that Trump lost voters compared to last time with white men but is up with African Americans, Latinos and Asian Americans? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-exitpoll-idUSKBN27J2T9 |
Yes it has surprised me, but it probably shouldn't considering the vast amount of people willing to vote for him. The existence of minority Trump supporters does not change the fact he's racist. It only confirms that minority groups also have illiterates. I mean you don't even have to go to minorities. Many of the things Trump did are objectively hurtful to his most core base. But feelings trump facts, otherwise he wouldn't be President right now.
There are too many things that go against my core beliefs to ever consider voting for the Republican party. I'm from Germany and here they would be considered on the far right extremist side, while I consider myself centrist leaning left on some and right on other issues. It's hard to be leftist in Germany considering how socialized our country already is. However my sentiments would be considered plain leftist in the US. Certainly further left than Biden, just stopping shy of Sanders, who would be considered a moderate leftist here.
If I lived in the US there would be zero benefits for me voting for the Republicans. I'm not a millionaire. I would suffer from the poor social safety, health system and non existent employee rights and benefits. Then I would look at both parties and see how the Democrats want to make most of those things better while I see Republicans boasting to make all of those things even worse.
Voting in the US is the easiest thing in the world because the parties are more or less exact opposites. Which is why I find it pretty insulting when people try to equate them. Saying both are bad isn't useful when one of them is clearly more evil than the other.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
