Forums - Gaming Discussion - 2017 or 2020? Better first 4 months for console games?

So, out of this list I've bought/or planning to buy the following games (in bold I highlighted the games that I enjoyed)

2017:

  • Nier: Automata
  • Zelda: BOTW
  • Persona 5
  • Yakuza 0 (still in backlog, can't say anything about it)
  • NiOH (maybe?)

2020:

  • AC: New Horizons
  • Doom Eternal
  • FF7 Remake
  • Persona 5 Royal (I'll 100% like it)
  • Ori And The Will of The Wisps
  • RE3 (maybe?)
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus (maybe?)
  • NiOH 2 (maybe?)

So, 2020 seems to be more packed with interesting games, but the question is will all those games be able to top Persona 5/Nier Automata duo? I'm not so sure. Still, 2020 seems to be shaping up to be the second best year of eighth gen, after 2017 of course.

P.S. Ori And The Blind Forest Definitive Edition is not 2017 game, it is a 2016 game. Also, Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a pretty good JRPG released earlier this year, it is definitely worth mentioning as well.

Right now, I would say 2017 but then again P5R is a souped-up version of the original game plus FF7 remake... sooo maybe 2020
