Forums - Microsoft - The Xbox 360 is about to pass the Xbox in million sellers.

According to the VGC game database, the Xbox 360 currently has 36 million sellers, just like the original Xbox.  Next week, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 will push past one million, allowing the Xbox 360 to trump it's successor.

For those that are interested, the PS3 has 12 million sellers, and the Wii has 25.

The PS2 had 196 million sellers, making it unlikely the PS3 will ever reach it's predeccessor.

The Gamecube had 38 million sellers, making it all but certain the Wii will surpass it's predeccessor.

I wonder, how many did the 360 and PS2 have in the same number of weeks the PS3 has been out?

I've been trying to figure out if VGC has a way to see that. I'm not sure it does though.

You could figure out what week it was, and remove the games that came out after that, but it would be a real pain (especially for the PS2)

Lol, yeah. I'm far too lazy to to that. I'm pretty sure if did the Wii would embarrass both the 360 and the PS3 anyway (even though it would predominately be first party).

1. The PS2 actually has more, just the data isn't all correct for last gen. One example is Killzone 1.

2. The PS3 probably won't pass the PS2, but I bet it will reach 100 million sellers

3. Pfff...Gamecube. Nintendo's second worst failure (after the virtual boy, or whatever its called)

good show for the 360. MS has come along way to show its not just the seat warmer new kid on the block.

PS3s warm seats better, to the point of melting........I need to stop. The opportunity was just there....I had to....... Nice job 360, keep making more. PS3, make some. OK, that was the last one.......

I have a virtual boy... please, show more respect for those 770k sistems sold. And yes, it was Virtual Boy.

I cant belive, ps2 million sellers is just stupid, but, with a userbase of more than 120 millions, is not hard i think. Good for the 360, same million sellers with 75% of the userbase and at the middle of its lifetime.
