No, there will be multiple FF XIII games on different systems. FF XIV will be next generation.

I think he is counting 4 years from the release of FFXIII (since that will be about a year from now) so he is being accurate!
I think he is wrong though... I mean noone expected the PS2 to still be selling well on its 8th year so i think the PS3 might surprise us also :D
Surprised no one's mentioned this, but there's about an 80% chance that the big Crystal Tools MMORPG Square has in development is FF14. In that case, it'll probably be out within a year of FFXIII and will be on PS3, 360, and PC.
So the real question is FFXV. Early in this generation I figured it would probably make it out by the end, but after seeing how long FFXIII is taking, I kind of doubt it. You can bet it's already in development, though.
And of course, there'll be various big spinoffs like Versus. If you count X-2 as a "real" FF game (which I don't), you can certainly count that. The FFVII remake actually sounds fairly possible now too...

I agree, what console do u suppose that it will come too?
I can see it releasing in the middle-end of the ps3's life.
Is final fantasy versus a seperate game?
well there was ff 7 8 and 9 for the PS and 10, 11 and 12 for ps2, so yeh should do.
Probably 14, not 15. It's taken to long to get 13 out.
Interesting thing is SE has noted that 13's engine does run on the Wii. Where do you think 14 will go? I say the Wii unless 13 causes PS3 to massively surge in Japan.

the chances of FFXIII bombing even by FF standards are very low..

Square has mentioned a few times that they want to focus more on the international market, which is where the majority of the sales come for FF. They will probably do a worldwide release to compensate for the problem in Japan.
Any way, I think the sales of MGS4 in Japan will give a good idea on how well FF 13 will launch there.

FF13 is the one game that could turn things around in Japan. It really could start a major increase in sales, bring millions to the system, and continue snowballing into even more big games and sales.
