EA makes money on customer engagement within the game. Same as COD. Why do you think they went free to play and made mo money and less problems.

Getting rid of Gold would mean online would go free, which has been hinted at by various insiders but I'm still not convinced they'll make it free, this is just a hypothetical, I'm not sure what they'd do with Games with Gold if they got rid of Gold Tbh.

Rand talked about that. The online going free I believe he is referring to is free to play games as a whole. Like FF 14 for instance I think one of the biggest reasons it's not on the system is because PS + is not required for it on PS and I believe they want parity, which they should.

So I'm thinking free to play games will no longer require gold. Rand does believe in a few years it would go free, after a big milestone perhaps. We'll see though.
