If it does fall apart then Microsoft can go after Japanese Publisher that has no Ultra sales game likes of COD. We know Sega nor Namco or Koei Tecmo have IP's that can barely handle COD sales power. So 2/3 Japanese > 1 American sales power empire.

I don't think NY Post typically has good sources and a lot of it is guesswork or stuff we already knew, like, Activision wants Microsoft to offer concessions, but Microsoft doesn't want to offer concessions, it isn't that straight forward, Microsoft isn't going to offer concessions until they know the stance of every regulator and it's the last resort.

Also, the stuff from analysts saying that Microsoft would give up the deal if they can't get CoD exclusive, I do not agree with that at all, I fully believe Microsoft when they say they intend to treat CoD like Minecraft, also they broaden it to "This deal is all about exclusives" which I also don't agree with, a huge part of this deal is for King, just look at the revenue/profit that King brings in, Microsoft NEEDS an entry into mobile market and this is it.

It also ignores that the regulators only seem to care about CoD exclusivity, they're barely mentioned Diablo/Overwatch/Crash/Spyro, etc. I really don't think Microsoft is going to throw away a massive acquisition like this for a company that brings in billions in profits per year because they couldn't get one game exclusive which would bring them even less money making exclusive anyway, I do think if it came down to it, Microsoft would make concessions for CoD.

Having said that, I'm about 80% it passes recently, the arguments from CMA are utter junk but they don't have much oversight, I'm worried that with the current climate, some regulators just see this as a "big tech bad" and an opportunity to look like they're going hard on big tech no matter if the reason makes sense, Microsoft could win in court against one but I don't know if they'll bother if multiple attempt to block it.

We'll have to see what Phase 2 CMA says, I am most worried about them right now, especially since it seems they have a lot of power with little oversight, if they block it then there's a chance that Microsoft is fucked because of how hard it is to take them to court and win in court. We'll have to also see what FTC says at the end of their investigation, I'm a bit concerned there that they may also attempt a "big tech bad" angle for political points, Lol.

None of the arguments for blocking the deal make any sense from a market standpoint, CMA in particular seems more concerned about protecting the bottom line of the #1 company in Phase 1 which is really weird. There is no monopoly argument at all or Microsoft becoming too powerful as we saw in Brazil's investigation.

It would be completely ridiculous if it gets blocked, but I think we need to wait and see what FTC says first and how Phase 2 of CMA goes.

Finally.

The excitement for Forge.
