Just send GWG to the glue factory already Xbox. Seeing the quality of the lineup not improve at all with the reduction from 4 to 2 games per month is so disheartening. Meanwhile Sony is putting 3 games per month onto PS+ base tier usually, and most months at least one of the 3 is a AAA game. And the excuse that they are putting the GWG money into Gamepass doesn't fly either, because every month since June when the new PS+ released, Sony's PS+ mid tier additions have been as good as or better than the Gamepass additions in terms of 3rd party ga.es. It baffles my mind how Xbox seems to have decided that they won't compete with either PS+ base tier (GWG equivalent) or PS+ mid tier (Gamepass equivalent) when it comes to 3rd party games. It's like they want to lose the Gamepass lead.

I still purchase the Gold to have the ability to game online with friends and family.  I'm not interested in Game Pass (all the games that I'm interested in I purchase physical copies when available).  If they dump Gold, where would that leave the people in my category? Will online multi-player games go free? Or would I have to pay even more for something I don't need or want?

Online multiplayer should be free. Xbox claims they want to make Xbox an ecosystem for all gamers on all platforms, yet Xbox has to pay for multiplayer while Xbox app players on PC get free multiplayer, which isn't fair at all. Just kill Gold and work harder than ever to grow Gamepass to make up for the lost Gold revenue.

It's hilarious to see how Arkham Knight looks more "current-gen" than Gotham Knights does. And Knight was built on Unreal Engine 3

Xbox already has half of what would make them more in-line with their PC offerings, free cloud saves. Now they just need to add the missing piece!

You're not interested in Game Pass? Don't you know you have to post that in every gamepass thread to let people know? lol Joking aside, ideally they would drop the MP behind Gold (gold altogether) so Xbox users match PC gamers as xbox users are paying for the same service they get for free. And although I love GP to death, they really need to chill with the ads on the dashboard for it, especially for the upcoming 2023 dash... where they tried to make it a gamepass netflix layout, a big no for me.

Lol, I try not to provide any additional ammunition, but I do understand some of where Runa is coming from as far as physical media and backlogs are concerned.  I also understand all the value it has for the people that do purchase Gamepass. I've never used any television or movie subscription service, I'm a physical media collector in those domains as well.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

And there's nothing wrong with that! Just seems like a certain few love to just complain about something that isn't for them. It'll be like me going into multiple redbox threads and saying how renting is trash, like to each their own lol. I do feel for ya though because it seems like the entire dash is going to be dedicated to pushing Gamepass now

These are idealistic things, and I would love to see multiplayer go free but at the end of the day, Xbox is a business, not a charity, I don't think it's understood how hard it would be for Phil to stroll up to Satya like "Yo, lets dump Xbox Live Gold, despite the fact that none of our competitors are doing so, because GwG which the minority of our users sub to Gold for, is bad. We'll potentially lose billions in yearly revenue and then have to spend billions to make Game Pass replace that lost revenue, putting our business in the red and that is if Game Pass ever does replace it because Game Pass represents only 15% of our Content and Services revenue, not to mention, the profit margins on Gold are likely actually pretty great in comparison to the profit margins on Game Pass"

There are trade-offs to everything and some suck, GwG fucking sucks right now, I think they should drop the price of Gold, but I don't see a scenario where multiplayer which the main draw of Gold is, goes free until Game Pass replaces the revenue + profit at minimum, it's just not feasible, I wouldn't be surprised if it put Xbox as a whole in the red if they dropped it, since hardware doesn't profit, Game Pass profits are likely slim and would vanish if they had to replace Gold lost revenue, Gold likely profits but that would be gone, leaving Xbox to rely solely on 3rd party and 1st party which is unreliable at times, I.E. This year, Lol.

Can we get like, one decent game that people might actually like from GWG instead of whatever scraps are laying around? Rather have one game that actually looks like has some effort put into it than multiple disappointing games. Surely one decent offering isn't too much to ask for, media needs to grill MS for these wack ass offerings, maybe backlash will do something like when they tried to raise the price of gold lol

Idle Sloth is pointing out that Major Nelson hasn't posted any videos for the GwG offerings for the months of October and November lol. They know.

oooof

Does anyone know if GwG titles get paid on a per download basis or a flatrate? I would imagine these games aren't costing them much at all...

Probably a flat rate, I think I've seen a few developers mention that.

They should drop the price of Gold slightly to better represent the value of what they're offering us with GwG, I doubt the "multiplayer" aspect of Gold costs much to run which is why I assume the profit margins are high.

Wait for Game Pass to grow some more until it replaces Gold in revenue and profit then put a bullet in Gold and make Multiplayer free, by then, I suspect even more of the popular Multiplayer titles will be free anyway, as I said, CoD alone going free would shave off millions of Gold subscribers.
