Might (probably won't) check this out. Only RTS game I play is FE.

yeah lol. I might check out Gears Tactics, and that SE xbox strategy game used, but that's about it. I did play a few Valkyria chronicles games as well. 

Those aren't RTS games those games are referred to as turn-based tactics. Except for that SE xbox game, DioField Chronicle. They put a unique spin mixing RTS with RPG, but it's a first of its kind. RTS means real-time strategy, so everything is happening the second you click or make a choice. There's no waiting or turns.

The biggest RTS franchises, other than Age of Empires, would be Starcraft, Warcraft (pre-WoW days) Command & Conquer, Company of Heroes, and Total War.

Halo Wars is another though.

That's not a real time strategy game. 

Age of Empires looks like this:

Where all of the units are moving constantly. There are no turns.

You build your city, build an army. All at the same time, if you're slacking your enemies can get way ahead of you.

Randomly thinking here about how Press Play and Twisted Pixel would've been great 1st party studios for Gamepass, just a shame they were bought at the wrong time. I personally really liked Twisted Pixel's games, and Max the curse of brotherhood was a solid platformer
