Maybe it's just my inexperience with JRPG's in general. I've always been a Western RPG player since the OG Xbox days. And certainly wasn't one of the aforementioned port beggars

But the very first scene where Joker is attempting to escape and he's dashing and jumping around like he's Sonic felt weird. I couldn't control the camera at all until a little later, and because of how quickly Joker moves around, it just felt janky like it was from that era. Even after the opening segment and Joker was getting off the train, I saw people suddenly disappearing out of thin air when they moved just a few feet away from me lol.

Again, it could just be my naivety of JRPG's, but movement and camera control just felt like it was from an older era. No complaints in terms of the combat and soundtrack whatsoever though! I love me a good turn-based RPG, so I'm really looking to more of it. And of course, I'm not deep enough into the game to say anything regarding characters or story.

Definitely agree about the camera. It's not that good, especially when you simultaneously move the character as well.

I think the thing with people disappearing is a design choice. They are random NPC that don't serve a purpose other than making the game feel less empty. That's why some of them don't even have faces (for example when you look into the subway train from the outside) and you can also move right through some of them.

Tbf, I did just come from a nearly 100 hour playthrough of CP2077 lol. So to go from that to Persona is a beyond night and day difference. I'm sure by this time next week when I'm dozens of hours into the game, my nitpicks will be things of the past.

I was going to ask if the Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade was being built on Creation Engine 2, but considering every version of Skyrim, including 2016's remaster, was on Creation Engine, I'm guessing it's just an upgraded version rather than taking advantage of the new version of the engine.

It'll be pretty barebones I'm sure, just like the Skyrim 10th anniversary update was. 4K 60 fps in graphics mode or a lower res at 120 fps in framerate mode probably, maybe a few updated textures or other graphical bits if we are lucky, plus some free Creation Club content

After this releases, they really need to do some actual remakes of their older games, starting with Morrowind. That new Nvidia AI game remastering thing has shown that a gorgeous Morrowind remake can be made with minimal effort on the environments of the remake, just let the AI handle the remastering of the environments with high res textures and improved materials and improved lighting and such, and fix anything by hand that the AI doesn't do so hot on. All Bethesda would need to do is update the extremely dated character models, as well as some updates on the animations, gameplay, UI, and audio (either remastering the original audio or re-recording the soundtrack and voice lines). Would still be a fair amount of effort, but nothing compared to a brand new game, and it would sell very well.

I just realized, unlike Skyrim Special Edition, there's no mention on whether or not Fallout 4's DLCs will be included with this in a single package.

I'm loving all the different studios celebrating Age of Empires 25th anniversary

A little on the nose there Aaron I fully expect a console port to be announced now and most likely added to xCloud! The biggest question would be, which AoE games are going to get ported? I'm figuring IV, but who knows.

And fingers crossed for Age of Mythology DE!

I'm going to play the hell out of AoE when it comes to Xbox. Hopefully we get 2 and 3 DE as well, not just 4.

I have nearly 200 hours in AoE 3 DE alone and who knows how many hundreds of hours from the original release lol. I know 3 gets some heat but I love the card system in the game. Adds a new layer of strategy. 2 and 3 have been getting a LOT of new content since release both in new civilizations and game modes. AoE 1 DE hasn't been getting any love lol.

I played AoE 4 a couple months ago when it had a FTP weekend, and tbh, it's kinda as bad as Halo Infinite in terms of how many basic features were lacking at launch, and still are, but they nailed the gameplay. Having archers on walls felt like quite the game changer!
