It would be pretty dumb to make a public statement like this knowing full well it will generate some hype, only to silently delay it by two years and not even have it as a part of Infinite

Thinking more on it as well, I don't know if it would wise to make it standalone, Halo Infinite needs all it can get content wise to keep people playing it and based on the recent Tatanka leaks, it sounds more like Warzone 2.0 than Battle Royale, will it even get enough players to support it standalone? It's not going to make a dent in the BR fanbase of other games Imho.

Also, Jez said months ago that Forge heavily plays a part in it, if it switches to Unreal Engine then that's impossible, also, it suggests Halo Infinite is switching to Unreal Engine (unless they keep an Unreal Engine Halo and Slipspace Engine Halo...) but where does that leave Forge? Can anyone name an Unreal Engine game with a map creator as detailed and complex as Forge? Cause I can't think of one.

Not one which was one of the reasons why I was so skeptical about the thought of Halo moving to Unreal.

ugh I probably just got locked out of 1000 G in Immortals Fenyx Rising as I've killed all four mythical bosses but only got three fragments and can thus never complete one of Hermes' tasks which says I only killed 3/4.
Seems like I'm far from the only one who experienced the same glitch which has been present since the game's release but never got fixed.

Hmm, I did not experience this, wander what the trigger for making it happen.  I killed all four and completed all of the task without issue.

He's sticking by what he reported. This is going to get interesting.

I would be surprised if Halo moved engine. If anything, I can see them building a new engine that supports Forge but going to Unreal would be a big departure. I do believe that MS has abandon local co-op and that was a decision from the Top. I believe they just made a decision that its something they do not have the resources to continue to support while they have so much other things needed for the game going forward. Then again, I believe going forward local co-op is going to be rare for all major publishers. If not for Forge, I do believe that 343 would have moved from Slipspace a long time ago. Be interesting if MS setup an engine studio unless they can get some expertise in a forge add on to unreal.

This is far more likely Imo, Tatanka is on a new version of Slipspace engine.

That could be the case. Tatanka moving to Unreal was one that was speculation. But it would technically be true that they would be moving to a new "engine"

This is also pretty cool, but Mint Blitz just put out a video showing that with Infinite's Forge, turns out you can actually IMPORT files into Forge from some other third party software you may use to create assets. That's a game changer!

And all this effort goes to waste if Halo swaps to Unreal Engine

I still think it's better to attempt to salvage it.

I agree that 343 should dig themselves out of this hole. They don't deserve to get a get out of jail free card. I wouldn't be surprised if Matt Booty or Phil have told 343 "you got yourselves into this mess. Now get yourselves out of it." They did it with MCC and they can do it with Infinite.

Quadrant x HALO Special Edition Mini Helmet - Scale 1:2

While this is nice I guess, they seem extremely wishy washy on the actual criteria they use to determined partnership. KCP, Acend, G1 should've all been higher in line. Welp 2 more to go for season 2, hope there's at least one partner that is a big player and is new to the scene.

The only good thing about Xbox Live Gold in recent times is the conversion method to GPU lmao, just seems like they're dragging around a corpse at this point. I still believe in the *rumor* that once Gamepass hits a certain milestone it will be dropped, it only makes sense for the console and PC to be on the same page. Otherwise someone needs to press Phil/Sarah about the console tax lol
